Peter Falk and lots of other dead people have Alzheimer's.

Right, there's that forum joke killed. On with the rest of the thread in 2018.

Yours,

Scrooge.

How’s Les Sealey from Manchester United doing these days? It’s all rather quiet about him ;)

While going over names presently for 2018 teams, I had a star by Doddie Weir, but my follow-up research found this photo and if he is upright and looking at all decent (which he is), putting his name anywhere near a roster in 2018 seems premature.  Happy to check in on Doddie in late 2018 though and see  where he is at.  To that end, Google wasn't very forthcoming with links about Mr. Weir to any of our DDP sources, so I question his obit chances at the moment.  Again, let's see that play out.

I think June Whitfield is a decent bet. She'll be getting a decent standard of care in her nursing home, but she is definitely getting long in the tooth.

As stated before, I can't see Betty White saying goodbye any sooner than 2019. June Brown is the same. Assuming Chris Chitell (most likely) survives 2018, I would be willing to put him down as one of my returning 10 personal deathlisters (I feel like 25 is a bit too easy, bringing back half of the names)

I think a lot of nonagenarians like June Brown and Angela Lansbury and Betty White and QEII will probably make it to 2020, they’re all looking pretty healthy at present...though I’ve got a funny feeling that June Whitfield isn’t much longer for this world

Hopefully Dick Van Dyke will kick off before then, but if not perhaps he could time his departure for the first day of 2019.

...and anyone still living from Keeping Up Appearances.

That doesn't look like someone who will be alive 6 1/2 years later

If he survives 2018, Tinto Brass for all 2019 deathpool teams

Australia's foremost scientist, Ian Chubb, has stage iv kidney cancer but is now, miraculously, cancer-free:

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/jan/02/is-ian-cured-maybe-the-astonishing-cancer-treatment-of-australias-chief-scientist

Well, I, for one, am going to chase every bit of news on him. If that makes me a chubby chaser, then so be it.

He was likely not included for the same reason he was not included last year: the Committee thought that he does not meet the fame threshold.

To be more precise, I guess a lot of people have got to know him by now, but he's known in the U.K. mostly for the fact that he has cancer (and the DL's rules state that candidates must be famous for something other than their reduced life expectancy).

Most people only know his name because a successful fundraising campaign (based on Robbie Rotten memes) that was launched for him after his cancer diagnosis by the producer of Lazy Town. While a part of the British public may have been aware of the show before that, or even know Robbie Rotten as a character, but not the obscure Icelandic actor that provided his voice.

In short, he is well known, but to a rather younger generation than nearly everyone on this forum and the Cmme!

Doddie Weir is an absolute certainty to get an obituary from the BBC and all the British newspapers. Would agree he will likely make 2019 though.

I live in the expectation that these globalist leaders (Queen Elizabeth II, Henry Kissinger, Prince Philip, George Soros, Jimmy Carter, George H.W Bush Sr.) die soon and let the air lighter to breathe.
