I have some ideas for the deathlist of 2019, just an outline but I think some are worth it:

José Eduardo dos Santos

Mahathir Mohamad

Dame Marguerite Pindling

Former Malaysian prime minister and now opposition leader Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) over a chest infection.

In a statement on Saturday (Feb 10), IJN said that the 92-year-old Pakatan Harapan chairman was being treated in the general ward for the infection after a bad bout of cough.

Though it is not available on the net, Zeffirelly gave today a lenghty interview to Italian journal La Nazione, with photos of him. He is apparently well and does not look frail at all. He said he has fear of death, but no particular health issues at the moment and is happy of the life he's living. No reference to recent sexual allegations.

I think the pneumonia thing last year was a bit exaggerated.

Zeffirelli turns 95 tomorrow, says he is in good health and spirit. :birthday:

He's also being accused of sexual assault.

So that will put a strain on his health, or he just doesn't give a shit.

I also think he was the same age as Nick Nolte in this photo as well.

I think it is high time we dedicated a separate forum for former First Lady of the Philippines, Imelda Romualdez Marcos (July 2, 1929), commonly known as "Centipede"

If the bastard did not die that year ...

I believe that these following former heads of state should be added to the list next year: Giorgio Napolitano and Mahathir Mohamad (born 1925),  Nuon Chea and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah (born 1926), Imelda Marcos (born 1929) and Carlos Menem (born 1930)

Incredible is that they are all in advanced ages and are still alive today.

Being First Lady does not make a Head of State out of you.

There might be something wrong with Australian Idol winner Stan Walker:

Could it be the cancer gene he inherited?

A documentary is going to reveal what's wrong with him, apparently he had his stomach removed:

Doesn't he have Alzheimer's?

Update on Tessa Jowell

Quote

“She is doing great,” Ms Mills said of her mother. “We are fighting this. She is brave, she is magnificent, she is courageous. I’m seriously optimistic in the pursuit of beating this, but we are just taking every day at a time.”

The latest from David Shutts, DDP unique for me hereabouts, is that his stage 4 kidney cancer has advanced further into his lungs and bones. A new treatment has caused some response, so not on the clock just yet, but probably going down this year.

Cheers

Just had a Google - likely to be discussed a fair bit this year, eh?

Former NDP of Canada MP Paul Dewar diagnosed with brain cancer. Ran for leader of NDP in 2015 but lost. Probably on the same level of fame as say, Arnold Chan. Hey, maybe someone will put him on a long list in case there's a North American/Canadian DP :D

Dewar won't get an obit. He's always been an isolated guy.

I'll get my coat...

We should keep an eye on EVERY musician who is in that 67-73 range, and especially if they eclipse that.

With that let me remind you of someone who came up in conversation today, 75-year old Jean-Luc Ponty.  Seems a healthy lad but he’s an outlier already.
