It should be easy to find out.... I mean one of the greatest living writers...

 

I suspect there's a Philipp Roth connection, so it's an American.

 

Tony Morrison? Cormac McCarthy? Don DeLillo? 

I would guess it's one of these three.

He said he in his post that rules out Morrison and Rowling. McCarthy is not a bad guess. I'd forgotten DeLillo was still alive.
