Thoughts On The 2018 List

Recommended Posts

With the new list coming up in about 3 hours or so, I have decided to make a thread for the reception of the new list. Do you think that 2018 will get more than 17 hits, or do you think the list will be another abomination. We’ll only know by the end of 2018...

One of those nice perks of admindom is knowing a few of the debutants ahead of time. Of course, my lips are shut as to who for the next few hours :ninja:

I don't think 17 can be topped without going out on a limb with some daring débutante choices. The 2017 DL had too many die hards on it whose time is still many years off: hurrah!

Well, I’m certain that there will be at least 1 person under the age of 100, as they’ve done so every year...

After last year they’ve got a lot to live up to, if that’s the right turn of phrase

Mine too, but I could have sworn one of them died years ago.

I'll guess at Richard Baker...always got him mixed up with Robin Ray of all people when I was a lad...

I am aware that they are already dead. the report is finally looking back on 2017.

I repeat my question, does anyone know when the new list 2018 will go online ??

Not that it masters one bit but this year’s list won’t be breaking any records in my opinion.

No Nobby and Chirac not returning. While it's certainly an interesting list, I doubt it'll break 17 hits this year.

If June Brown dies I’ll run naked through Tesco’s with a feather up my ass.

I love the way the tabs get on their high horse. DDP remains under the radar however...

Hmm... they must be betting that the age glut at the top is going to be dissolved this year. I doubt it. It feels as if the list is slightly on the conservative side. Farrakhan was on it before? I think Lyndon LaRouche would have been the better pick in the political crackpot department.

I really like the shoutout to the forums.

Oh, and I think 15 hits are realistic.

Aaaand third opinion: I think that the job was also slightly harder this time. No obvious successor for King Michael. Dean Francis in my opinion not notable enough, Greg Gilbert is no Gord Downie...

31 over 90

39 over 80

46 over 70

They're trying to play it safe. But they didn't put Nobby Stiles in...now that's a bit bizarre.

I reckon 14/50.
