Quick note to Dead Cow, thanks for the tense but low scoring match.  Seems we both should have had 2-3 more hits, which may account for my roster this round.  Nothing but respect, mate!

My team is in.  @deadsox, bad luck - you certainly didn't deserve zero hits from that selection.  Hopefully we'll have a rematch next year :)

@Sir Creep, let's hope it's a good match and we don't embarrass ourselves with a 0-0 draw.  I have big respect for your deadpooling abilities, so know I'm in for a tough month. May we revel in the spectre of this worldwide festival of death, or something like that anyway. ;)

@msc thanks for the reminder messages.  Would definitely have forgotten to have entered a team at least once without them.

Didn't they do well? To get to the Semifinals, I think so, anyhow. So it's commiserations to The Dead Cow and our dethroned Cup holder, Deadsox. The King is dead, long live the King - but will it be the Devonian Prince of Darkness, or a Sir from Louisiana?

Only one way to find out.

Final masterlist

1.       George Bush Sr – Sir Creep

2.       Colin Butts – Sir Creep, DDT

3.       Matt Cappotelli – Sir Creep, DDT

4.       Tom Crawford – Sir Creep

5.       Sean Cox – Sir Creep

6.       Fu Da-Ren - DDT

7.       Angie Douthit – Sir Creep

8.       Virgil Hunter - DDT

9.       Will Jordan - DDT

10.   Alejandro Junco de la Vega - DDT

11.   Meng Lang – Sir Creep

12.   Rev Violet Mark - DDT

13.   Bertie McMinn - DDT

14.   Marsh Pratley – Sir Creep

15.   Bishop Francis Quinn – Sir Creep, DDT

16.   Ralph Santolla - DDT

17.   Doug Silsbee – Sir Creep

18.   ND Tiwari – Sir Creep

19.   Joe Vento - DDT

3rd place masterlist

1.       Leonard Bighetty- Cow

2.       Kathleen Blanc - Deadsox

3.       George Bush Sr - Deadsox

4.       Colin Butts- Cow, Deadsox

5.       Matt Cappotelli – Cow, Deadsox

6.       Jon Hiseman - Cow

7.       Will Jordan- Cow, Deadsox

8.       Jose Jose - Deadsox

9.       Alejandro Junco de la Vega  - Cow

10.   Meng Lang – Cow

11.   Peter Lorimer - Deadsox

12.   John McCain –Cow, Deadsox

13.   Bertie McMinn – Cow

14.   Charlotte Rae - Deadsox

15.   Lindy Remigino - Deadsox

16.   Doug Silsbee – Cow

17.   Gary Thibodeau - Deadsox

18.   Papu Pom Pom- Cow

Final

Sir Creep (Bush, Butts, Cappotelli, Crawford, Cox, Douthit, Lang, Pratley, Quinn, Silsbee, Tiwari)

Vs

DDT (Junco, Jordan, Hunter, Vento, Santolla, Butts, Cappotelli, McMinn, Quinn, Da-Ren, Mark)

3rd place playoff

Dead Cow (Silsbee, Pom, Lang, Butts, Hiseman, Junco, McCain, Jordan, Cappotelli, McMinn, Bighetty)

Vs

Deadsox (Lorimer, Jordan, Bush, McCain, Cappotelli, Butts, Thibodeau, Blanco, Remigino, Rae, Jose)

Now, you might notice two matches. I got asked (a lot) about a 3rd place playoff last year, and so here it is, as both losing Semifinalists were willing to take part. (Indeed, we had unanimity from all 4 contestants!) Never let it be said the Cup wont try and give the punters what they want. You might also notice 2 different masterlists. That's because I see the 3rd place playoff as "separate" from the final, and didn't feel it fair for uniques of Sir Creep or DDT to be lost due to the optional other match being played.

Right, we're nearly at the finish line. Good luck to both finalists.

Christ, those are all four very fine teams. Personally, I'm rooting for Sir Creep to win so I can say I lost to the winner, but I think all four teams are worthy of making it this far. Good luck to all of you. :)

Creep's certainly had an interesting road to the final, even if less so than deadsox last year. First round he only won via one longtime bedblocker hit against a scoreless team, but he then went on to take out other top players, oftentimes with cult picks he'd written off! And now he takes on one of the deadpooling GOATs with teams worthy of a finale on both ends. Good luck to both.

Congratulations to DDT for making the final.  Your team was better and you deserved the win.  Best of luck to both the finalists and to my next opponent, the Dead Cow.

Yes, two worthy finalists imo. Sir Creep's taken to the Cup like an arsonist to a listed building, and DDT's achievements are well noted, one of the GOATS, without a shadow of a doubt. Still, I know Sir Creep likes 70s/80s wrestling, so "you got to beat the man to be the man"!

Anyhow, I couldn't and wouldn't call the final (it's up for grabs), and am glad to see Deadsox and Cow in the 3rd place match. Everyone's a winner, but there is only going to be one winner. :D

Hey my friends I’m in the heart of N’awlins doing lots of naughty things, so haven’t had a chance to check in.

DDT here’s to a fantastic finish for the two of us, and to a close and exciting match.  As I type this I STILL haven’t looked at your roster (that’s next), like I said I wanted to wish you best of luck first.

Dead Cow thanks for Lang and Silsbee, hoping they do the right thing in June.  Had to borrow them (abscond more like).

Does anyone know who the Will Jordan in my team is?   I've obviously made a note of his name somewhere, but when I googled him just now, he seems to be a prolific and not very old author, with the other alternative being a bigamist with ten children.   Neither are ill as far as I could work out.  :scratchhead:

It's the same guy on Deadsox and Cow's team, only the news stories aren't there now, making me wish I'd noted his occupation down last week now.

Def.passed the fame test though.

FTR and obviously with all respect I shouldn't have to heap onto Spade, he said in his tip (I checked beleive you me) 'from his same source as...' and if Google can't find it, and it can't, I've no idea his source, not even a hint about an illness.  I'm not doubting Spade at all (and the fact everyone else has Will speaks to that) but I couldn't verify anything and just not enough to go with. So  I  passed.  I guess I could have PMd Spade but that seems wrong.

You really think I'm giving up the source that gave me "Shelly Berman and Mitzi Shore are about to drop dead"?

Santolla dead according to his mother. Obits will follow soon, I think.

Several heavy metal magazines reporting the news now:

https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2018/06/06/ralph-santolla-1969-2018/

http://metaljacketmagazine.com/ralph-santolla-dead-at-48/

Should be good enough an Obituary for Cup purposes.

With him and Da-Ren (who’s going to be dead tomorrow), DDT will start with an 8 point lead. However, I believe that if there’s anyone who can make a comeback from that many points, it’s Sir Creep...
