While most people are more interested in Derby Dead Pool statistics, this is the pool I've played the longest. After 15 years, my basic stats are as follows:

Years completed: 15     (2008 to 2022)

Career wins: 2     (2018 and 2019)

Career top ten finishes: 12     (2011 through 2022, inclusive)

Career hits (official):     191*

Career points:     2300**

* Excludes 2012 hit Barry Blaikie and 2017 hit Dennis Stamp, for which no acceptable obituaries were published and no points were awarded. Also excludes 2011 hit for Gordon Murray, who was retroactively disallowed.

** Includes tentative 2022 youngest hit bonus points. Excludes 2023 points for Frank McGarvey hit.

One thing I never understood for pools in general is Why the absence of qualifying obit is a problem to mark points. The person is dead either way so we don’t really care about the obit, do we ?

If any or no obit was accepted, then there would be nothing to stop people picking Mrs Miggins next door, your dad's mate from work, the school cleaner, the lady from the post office, etc.

Isn't that the purpose of the QO requirement?  That seems the simplest way.

Team just sent. 6 rejected. Am I allowed to tell which one ?

Why are "picks" rejected?

They are either famous enough to get a qualifying obituary or they are not.

Fame is often a subjective viewpoint. Is someone who played three games in the Premier League five years ago famous? What about a character actor who had a recurring role on a 1990s top 10 American sitcom? Or a former finance minister of Fiji? Each deadpool has someone (or multiple someones) who make that determination.

Well, no, they don't always.  This one does, but aside from some general exclusions (eg only famous for being ill) most deadpools allow picks to sink or swim dependent on a QO.

After a flurry of last-minute deaths in the days leading up to 2023, resulting in a lot of subs, it's been a relatively dormant year for me. Maybe things are picking up. Michel Cote is a solo for me.
