Zsa Zsa's leg 513 Posted January 3, 2018 On Friday, former Democratic Vice President and 1984 Presidential Candidate Walter Mondale of Minnesota will turn 90 years old. Certainly deathlisty, considering Former VP's Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, and Dick Cheney have all made appearances on the deathlist. Mondale, along with President Jimmy Carter are the oldest remaining President and Vice Presidential duo. There's also a recent update about the Former Vice President. At around the 42 second mark and in the thumbnail you can see Vice President Mondale who escorted newly seated Senator Tina Smith to her swearing-in. Has gotten frailer over the years but is on his feet looks healthy for an 89-year-old widower.

Elephant 127 Posted January 1 Very glad he's on the list. A good call!
gcreptile 3,636 Posted January 1 Yes, I like his addition and stopped short of asking for him in the recently created Michael Dukakis thread. I mean, I kind of thought he would eventually occupy Jimmy Carter's spot - who has proved to be very resilient (oldest US president ever!), but will most likely die this year.
msc 10,805 Posted January 1 OH I missed this one. Nice. Could be a good pick. Carter, Mrs Carter and Carters VP on same list.
Cerberus 65 Posted January 2 Coming up to 93 I see. Is he the longest lived Vice-President, of those who never went on to become President themselves?
Death Impends 3,780 Posted January 2 1 minute ago, Cerberus said: Coming up to 93 I see. Is he the longest lived Vice-President, of those who never went on to become President themselves? John Nance Garner, FDR's first veep, lived to 98.
Deathrace 286 Posted January 2 Also the longest lived Presidential candidate from the two main parties is 1936 Republican candidate Alf Landon (who suffered a landslide defeat similar to Mondale) who lived to be 100. Some way yet for Mondale to go.
