Xi Jinping

Recommended Posts

Xi Jinping is likely to become leader of the Chinese Communist Party for life when a constitutional change is passed.  How long will that be then?

Chinese president Xi Jinping is reportedly suffering from brain aneurysm and refusing surgery. Voices have been insistent for the past weeks, and there has been no denial.

Also notice Xi Jinping's mother Qi Xin (wiki) is still alive at 95.

Rumours that Qi Xin has died from COVID-19 aged 96. No confirmation or denial from the CCP as of yet.

Right now I think it 's a hoax, soundofhope is notoriously trash.

On the other hand I wouldn't be surprised at all. If an announcement doesn't come before tomorrow it is the usual baseless hoax.

Qi Xin visited at home by party officials today, so, well, usual Falun Gong bullshit.

EDIT: former governor of Guangdong Zhu Senlin, 92, was also visited to dispel rumours he was in hospital (his successor as mayor og Guangzhou died this morning). 105-year old relic Fan Xixian was also visited.

Nice of them to get so many visitors whilst COVID is spreading like wildfire.

Not a good period for Xi. China's economy is facing troubles and he has recently purged Foreign Affairs minister Qin Gang and Defense Minister Li Shanfu apparently with no explanation.

He seems to be disliked by the progressive wing of CCP (the late Li Keqiang, Hu JIntao's clique, elders as Tian Jiyun, Hu Qili, Zhu Rongji) and even by the old school hardliners (like Song Ping). Recently he received strong direct critique from Chi Haotian and Zheng Qinghong and was reportedly furious after the meeting.

He seems just like a pale copy of Mao Zedong, I don't think he will hold power for life as he wishes.
