Sir Michael Caine

Recommended Posts

Michael's clearout raised £847,000, against a presale estimate of £314,000. That included £125,250 for his gold Rolex. Even the Muppets jacket made £2,000!

Well £800,000 might pay for a few months in a nursing home

Pictures of  Michael Caine spotted out and about on a night out with his wife.  He needs some support  though  given he has recently had back surgery.

With that walking stick and Shakira, those hips ain't spry....

Clip of him introducing the BFI's re-release of Get Carter. Sounds out of breath at times, seems to be reading off an autocue, and is propped up in his chair with a cushion, but I guess he could be in worse shape at 89.

(Apologies for the Facebook link, I've looked and it isn't on the BFI YouTube account at time of writing)

Worthy to note that Caine’s two best friends, Connery and Moore, died in their ninetieth year, and that in Going In Style (filmed 2016), Caine estimates he has another seven years...

He's done very well to get to 89 seeing as he was a big smoker in his younger years.

Guilty. What tosh, his Butler and Driver would take care of that.

A driving ban, not a drinking ban. And the implication was that she needed to drive to him, not drive him around. If anyone can afford a cab it's Michael Caine.

Good information, not a lot of people know that!

Interview in the Spectator to coincide with his 90th birthday. Not especially remarkable, but for the fact that it was conducted entirely through email. Not able or willing to let people speak to him in person?

Probably just doesn't want to bother. Although perhaps I'm being charitable.

Looks okay in photos from his 90th birthday party: https://news.sky.com/story/sir-michael-caine-celebrates-90th-birthday-with-tom-cruise-and-loose-womens-denise-welch-12834817

You know you occupy an interesting place in pop culture when such a bizarre mix of people are your guests. Can't imagine Tom Cruise and Denise Welch having much cause for interaction otherwise.
