I now thinkk Fidel wil die in 2008,not this year. But I do think he WIL die next year, since Fidel himself cast doubt on whether he wil live to see the end of the Bush presidency-he would like to see it but he sounds unsure that he will...with good reason I suspect...

What makes the Bush presidency so special to Catro's heart?

I thought, for the most part, he hated all US Presidents equally.

I think Fidel Castro's death might be confirmed in the next few days. Stop with this dave. I just want him to die this year. i don't think he will make it to 2008. His condition is serious. Fidel's death may happen the next weeks.

And I might have died in the accident with the diesel tanker on Interstate 35 in Dallas this morning.

He'll die when he dies. We'll find out when we find out. Trying to second guess what goes on in Cuba is another definition for insanity.

Kind of like this thread.

I can't believe that this is the first time I'd agree with Dave on his last statement.

Castro we know is quite frail and has several health problems. However there are others that can be placed higher up on the list.

Full details of his current health state is shrouded in mystery at the moment because the authorities know there will be riots, all over celebrations etc once he finally does die.

What seems to be keeping Castro alive is the unwillingness to want to die when Bush is in power.

If Bush was ever to be impeached. He'll probably be so overcome with joy that it might kill him

Phantom, that's a very long time to wait for the end of Castro and his thread.

Drastic times call for drastic measures: Perhaps the good Dr. Hackenslash will consider taking a 'working vacation' in Cuba sometime soon to administer a daring and highly experimental new treatment . :crossbone:

Castro is one stubborn person, I just don't think he wants to give Bush the satisfaction of him dying during his term in office.

However he is quite frail. If he takes a tumble like that time when he fell off stage a couple of years ago there's no telling what could happen.

Like CarolAnn said, that he'll die when he dies

Saying that Bush has only another 13-14 months left and it's going to be a long 12-13 months for everyone

Going back to what dave & windsor were saying in an earlier comment, yes he hates all US presidents. However G.W.Bush is one that he has expressed a greater disliking towards in support of Hugo Chavez.

To face it, wouldn't we all like to see the end of Bush's presidency a lot sooner?

I'm sure Castro has wondered if Bush should follow suggestions such as taking an ride in a convertible car in Dallas, going on a hunting trip with Cheney....

Yeah! It'd be great if, all these years, shrouded in secrecy, the Cubans have been ploughing all available profits from Godot's cigar habit into the development of some awesome super-weapon. Let's call it, for the sake of argument, a "Thermo-Socialist Quark-Interference Device" or "TheSQuID".

At the last minute, after years of pissy rhetoric and counter-rhetoric and sanctions and defiance and blah blah blah, Fidel steps out onto his balcony. He announces, to the throngs of eager listeners below, that Cuba has successfully launched their fearsome super-weapon and neutralized the enemy...

We have converted these decadent, soulless capitalists to socialism! We have improved their weather and, more importantly, symbolically annihilated the White House, at which GWB, Margaret Thatcher, Tony Bliar (sic), Condy Rice, GHW Bush, Ronald Reagan's corpse, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, Vladimir Putin, Ehud Olmert, Jamie Oliver, Ariel Sharon, Gordon Ramsey, Jeremy Kyle and a bunch of other arseholes happened to be attending some sort of conveniently-timed function. Long Live Cuba! Long Live Socialism!

Is fan-fiction on-topic? Discuss... (but not here)

Let me address readers who are concerned with Castro and the consistent 'Castro is dead Rants' which refuse to die.

I will go from our past - to our current - and finally to the future of the situation.

It was January 2007 when people were mad with the idea of Dictator Fidel Castro's demise, one who has had hundreds of assassination attempts on his life 'all obviously failed' and with the media going OD on the accounts of his death, the wait became longer, and the tension grew drastic, until each and every one of use 'Besides some of our Cuban friends) came to realize that it wasn't going to be 'right then and there'

Now much like our religious beliefs 'Sorry friends in Cuba I don't think this applies to you'

We have the option to believe in 'whatever we want' and I choose to believe Castro is in his lawn chair with 'Playboys' latest magazine not to mention a twelve inch Subway sandwich (no onions) with a diet coke.

The only light at the end of the tunnel concerning the never - ending Castro rants 'to me' is his absence from 'Deathlist 2008'

"We have contingency plans for a possible massive exodus," McCarry said in Washington. "We have the obligation to secure our borders."

So whaddya reckon? Machine guns or just pour offal into the sea until it's full of sharks?

Guest Just A Browser '

I think Fidel Castro is pretty funny to be perfectly honest. Castro is a bastard, he is one to have been thought of as 'easy to seduce'

They had some bangin Cuban chick try and kill him once, but she couldn't 'do him in' because as they were in bed together she realized 'what a clown he was. She couldn't do it 'and if I were Castro at this time' I would have taken advantage of the situation.

On one occasion, a former lover was recruited to kill him, according to Peter Moore, producer of the new film. The woman was given poison pills by the CIA, and she hid them in her cold cream jar. But the pills melted and she decided that, all things considered, putting cold cream in Castro's mouth while he slept was a bad idea. According to this woman, Castro had already guessed that she was aiming to kill him and he duly offered her his own pistol. "I can't do it, Fidel," she told him.

Seriously? Does it get any better? A woman sent on a mission to kill you, but in disguise as your lover!

The authority you could own once finding that out! I would absolutely find ways to punish her if 'I were a dictator' I would be kicked back lighting up Cuban cigars as she would be stranded helpless - hand cuffed to the bed - post.

Maybe routine spankings would do the trick. I mean 'after all' if she was really trying 'to kill you' she has to suffer just a little bit. In the end I'm an individual of a very calm and forgiving nature. Just as funerals and weddings end with a degree of sinful acts or some capacity of 'bondage' I would most likely come to my senses and handle the situation like a human being.

................. To be continued

S'obvious really, mindful of the movie rights to his life story, Fidel is busy writing a third act that'll ensure Andy Garcia, or someone like him, is taxed to Oscar winning levels of performance in the final half hour of the film.

It's what Labour have been trying to do to some northern landmarks - Manchester, Blackpool, Sheffield - for a few years.

It is 'Fidel Castro' the greatest Cuban tease to his much hating audience which all is distributed and exaggerated by the press.

I blame the press for everything.

Maybe you're right to blame the press for everything, Mr Scream, but you surely can't knock a young Dexter Fletcher or Julia Sawalha for their idealistic, pubescent journalistic fervor, can you? Ok, maybe you can... but I wouldn't. Especially given the magnitude of teenage boner I had for La Sawalha back in the day. Phwoarr!
