I've been listening to a lot of Jason Molina's music today, this song in particular has been on repeat.

Really love this song by them:

They are a band that I should definitely listen to more...

Well, I started my Summer 2018 playlist a few days ago. Let's see what I got on it so far...

  • You've Got A Friend - Carole King
  • Time Is The Enemy - Quantic
  • New Slang - The Shins
  • Cowgirl In The Sand - Annie Keating
  • When The Music's Over - The Doors
  • Every Word Means No - Let's Active
  • Long Time Gone - Crosby, Stills, and Nash
  • I'm A Loser - The Beatles
  • And from my most recent post on this thread, Farewell Transmission - Songs: Ohia

Really think these are all great songs...

Just made some minor improvements there.

Also find it mildly amusing (and, credit to you, intriguing) that a 'Summer 2018' playlist would consist of songs that are largely 40+ years old :P

Truthfully, I don't care what other people say about my music tastes. I try to be as open minded in my music as possible, so I try to listen to a lot of stuff, even if there are some artists that certain people say are uncool to listen to. And yes, I do enjoy a lot of older music...

I know, I'm saying it's great! It's quite refreshing to see someone of your age listen to music released when my dad still lived in a ballsack, rather than what Calvin Harris put his wretched fucking name to this afternoon...

Though I stand by my (unpopular) view that The Beatles are litter.

Got my phone on shuffle whilst doing stuff I should've done at my desk at work and it gifted me with this spectacular hat trick of interesting Muse stuff.

Alan Bean's death reminded me of this great song today:

Yeah, I know that it's about Andy Kaufman, but it's still a great song...

EDIT: I'm listening to the album again and it reminds me on how good it is...

I'm enjoying some of the solo work of Mark Mulcahy (of Miracle Legion and Polaris) at the moment, a criminally underappreciated singer and songwriter in my opinion. Of his solo career his album Fathering is quite excellent, though I think my favourite solo song of his would be this one, predominantly because of the french horn.

Most people I've come across say Radiohead music is music to drink bleach to. It might be that I'm biased because my username has "bleach" in the middle, but I love their work. The Bends is perfect for zoning out to on a train in the middle of the night.

I just got to Nightswimming in my full listen of the album, and I agree that it's a superb song, along with the rest of the album (even Everybody Hurts is a great song despite it being overplayed). Apparently John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin helped with Nightswimming's orchestral arrangement, not something I'd guess on first listen...

Not so much listen as watch in awe. Queen at Wembley 1986. Haven't watched this video for years and it's one of those videos that just leaves you standing aghast, the way Freddie Mercury interacts with the crowd is astonishing and it's one of the best Queen set-lists you could ever wish to see, as is the crowd participation. There's an absolutely incredible bit in the middle which is just him getting the crowd to sing nonsense back to him (well vocal exercises, but it sounds like nonsense), only he could pull it off in quite that fashion and get so many involved. I now know where I'm going if I ever come across a time machine and some covers of a few rock classics....

Inb4 one of the old farts on here makes me really jealous by telling me they were there....

Not Wembley, but 1980 in Dallas. The first time.

Of course, you're listening to a 3hr 15min German piece called 'The Woman Without A Shadow'. Naturally. Everyone is. Can we stick to less obvious things in future please?
