Ringo Starr looks on average in health. But for his looks... That’s a different story.

Aye.

That has had him crying into his bank account.

So, reading an interview with Giles Martin who remastered Abbey Road for reissue this year. One thing that surprised him, and a few Beatle fans apparently is how much of the original album was recorded live (as in live in the studio) and then given minimal overdubs. Amongst the tracks on which they're all playing together are some with the subtle and sensitive percussion - like Sun King - and a few tight little gems like Mean Mr Mustard.

The point as far as this thread is concerned being they couldn't have done that with a dodgy drummer!

I still cant handle how young this guy looks. He must be the youngest looking 80 year old in history.

I'd imagine all the peace and love (and money) have helped.

He is the oldest of the 5 of them and will probably be last to sound the death drum.

Yeah but he also suffered from Tuberculosis as a child for years and he had a decade long alcohol addiction.

Found a video of him celebrating his 81st Birthday earlier this month. He truly absorbed John Lennon's life energy or something.

He could easily pass for 20 years younger than he is.

Make that 40, as long as he keeps his sunglasses on

It helps being vegan, sober and have money based off 60+ years of recording music, being a businessman and voice of Thomas the Tank Engine.

Also he collects post cards. Because for some reason I have that book of his where he shows his collection.

The glasses and facial hair probably hide the worst evidence of old rheumy eyes and jowls admittedly, and I'm not entirely convinced his hair is all his own but he is in incredibly good nick bodily. A healthy lifestyle obviously suits him.

That's Joe Walsh lining up with Ringo and Barbara early on - he's cleaned up from a dangerously dissolute state too and doesn't look too bad.

Walter "Wally" Eymond aka Lu Walters, bassist with Rory Storm And The Hurricanes, reportedly dead:

According to Wiki, this means that Ringo is the last surviving member of the original line-up of the band.

A photo from his gig last night in Montreal. Pretty remarkable for 82.

Amazing considering how ill he was as a kid and the state of his alcoholism half his life ago - he might be the last Beatle standing. Elasticated waistband on the kecks, mind - seeking a little comfort in his old age.

Cancels concert after falling ill.

Nothing serious it seems anyway.

This horseshit four-day-old article states he tripped over his own feet, immediately bounced back up and carried on with the show.

Saved you a click.
