Minor mistake to point out: you've written "Barder" down under unknown man. I think you mean Barker?

Small silly analysis for this month: if we have only one death, the following deathlisters could be knocked out by the following picks (since they have ranked them higher than any other player has):

Theoldlady: Barker, Channing, Downs, Shultz

Wormfarmer: de Havilland, Lynn, Redstone, Day, Nakasone

Madhatter: Ricketts

Unknown man: Gilbert, Reiner, P-orridge, Ferlinghetti

Skinny kiltrunner: Frates, Pei, Ricksen, Jaffee, Mercier

Clorox Bleachman: Bracknell, Douglas, Lima, Anh, Overton

Quim Reaper: Rogers, Escheverria, Cruickshank, de Cuellar, Lear

Bibliogryphon: Nobody (well done!)

Msc: Philip, James

Grim up north: Jose Jose, Stiles

Sir Creep: Stevens, Gascoigne

En passant: Kumar

Captain chorizo: Cardin

John Key: K Johnson, Norden

Joey Russ: Nolan

Qtips: Dole, Greaves

Paddyfool: Bush

Nice breakdown above, paddyfool.  I had already looked at that for myself, but hadn't thought about doing it for all lists.  Thanks for the work.  It is interesting to see that only Bibliogryphon's list is impervious to a single death month.  Lots of us can go home with as many as 4 or 5 different one-and-done scenarios!

Some further stats:

Yes, 50 of the 56 eligible names in round 1 were drafted.  Only Don Lusk, Beverly Cleary, Leslie Philips, Herman Wouk, Norman Lloyd and Lucia Hiriart went untaken.  Most common name was QE2 on 13 out of 17 lists.  Second was Kenny Rogers at 9.  Many names (13) were only taken once.  Remember, I will likely add some names prior to round 2 so that the pool doesn't get too small.  My goal will be to make the new names unattractive.  Will you have the cajones to select them?

To stop the error perpetuating through this whole Pool the correct spelling is Jill Gascoine.

I don't know what you mean by make some noise.  Do you want a PM when someone scores?  I will update the table fairly regularly as needed.

Didn't really mean anything :) I'm sure I'll notice anyway. Because it's a monthly thread I'm trying to at least stay reminded that it exists!

Remember to get your lists in for Round 2 (even you, John Key, in case there is a last minute change in the standings) anytime before the end of the month.  You can post here or PM me if you prefer not to share until the round has begun.  Late lists will incur a penalty if ANYONE on the master list dies in Oct prior to their list being submitted.  See details in the intro to this thread.  Remember, no names can be reused from your round 1 list, but 5 new names have been added for your selecting pleasure in round 2.  John Key's time may be running out . . . . . .

By the way, I thought it very amusing that British musician Chas Hodges, keyboardist of "Chas and Dave" died yesterday of . . .  wait for it . . . . organ failure.  How appropriate.

It would be only too easy to use this data to cheat and avoid any risk of a single death knock-out... I've already submitted my list, but I'll be keeping my cards face down for now ;-)

Dang, that's like walking around all day with your fly open.  I'm mortified. Or just really hoping Rhoda survives.

Ah, frig it. If anyone else does want to cheat, one more list won't make a difference now:

The Wisdom of Crowds (based purely and mathematically on who was popular in September, outside of my original team):

Gilbert (10 points)

Nolan

Rogers

Flair

Reiner

Frates

Vervoort

De Havilland

Lynn

Jose Jose (1 point)

Subs:

Stevens

Pei
