Point-per-day penalty kicking in. :)

Just a friendly reminder about this deadpool. Still time to enter your February team, even with the penalty. :hatsoff:

You should probably put @Sir Creep to gain his attention as the only non submitted team, assuming of course that unlike that sub-arctic renegade sharon he hasn't disabled it. The point is sound though :)

Sir Creep, sir.  Got your list, posted as of Friday, which has incurred a 7 pt penalty as thus:  3 pts for the death of a name on the master list (Mcgahan), which no one had on an active list (otherwise it would have been 3 pts plus the highest score incurred by a list containing mcgahan), plus one pt per day starting the 5th (4 pts).  So I will get you posted, but you are in a hole.  ALSO, you seem to have lapsed on the rules for this pool which state you cannot use names in consecutive months.  Both Jimmy Carter and Marieke Vervoort were on your Jan list, so they are illegal here.  Please sub in two legal names at the same spots ASAP.  Otherwise if we get more hits I am going to have to figure out more penalty scenarios - sigh.

meh.  I really didn’t want to effect the outcome of the game but no way to bow out gracefully.  We’ve already seen that non existent people are still playing (sigh)

I don’t want penalties or to stop anyone else from losing this month.  I’d have posted a team on time if truly interested.

Sorry

I'm a bit green on these matters, how can, "non existent people" play and what purpose does that serve?

I cannot help you there either.  Might be referring to the 2 teams that failed to submit a list in Rd 2, but they were eliminated that round so have not been playing since.  Everyone else is "existent" to my knowledge.  Sir Creep's post is cryptic to me at best, but it seems clear that his heart isn't in it at this point so hopefully his current score of 7 will hold up as the big score for the month which will gracefully release him from all obligations hereforth . . . .  Clorox and Capn Chorizo may very well benefit!

@Wormfarmer will there be any new names added for Round 6?

Since Feb has so far been a very quiet month, there will not be any new names added.  There should be plenty to choose from.  If there is a flurry of death before the March entries start coming in, I will reconsider.

Round 6 is underway - all eleven remaining teams are in and there is no score yet so all shovels are clean.  Here is a quick breakdown of who would go home in the event of a single hit on the list for the month:

oldlady - jose, rogers, johnson, barker, kumar

wormfarmer - harper, alagiah, lloyd

paddyfool - nakasone, prince philip, de Cuellar, kissinger, escheverria

bibliogryphon - gascoine, cardin, phillips, ricksen

en passant - safe

qtips - nolan, mugabe, pope ben, scales, james, mccririck, bracknell, stiles

Clorox - tanaka, cleary

msc - wouk, de Haviiland,  dole, greaves

grim up - vervoort

cap'n cho - safe

j russ - downs, jaffee, clegg, flair, stevens, conway, redstone

In addition, there are 6 names that would result in ties if they are the only death for the month:

day = oldlady and jruss

newton-john = wormfarmer and jruss

mercier = biblio and clorox

QE II = cap'n cho and paddyfool

reiner = en passant and biblio

And a 4 way tie if it's Jimmy Carter = paddyfool/en passant/msc/cap'n cho!!

Correct, there will be no new names added to the game this month.  (I misread the question as "will the same list of names we select from carry over into April" when I answered this) No one scored in March, so no elimination.  BUT - the top 2 point getters in April will both be eliminated.  It there are ties needed to be broken, we will refer to carryover points earned in past months (pts scored by players that were not eliminated).  I already have a team PM'd to me by msc, so I am sending my team to msc by PM today, and will post an April summary table after most (or all) of the April teams are in.   After this botched post I am allowing teams to send in new lists for April, IF THEY DESIRE!  No new list is required as March lists can be carried over into April, per earlier posted rules.
