The 4th Crowdsource Deathlist (2019 edition)

Recommended Posts

Last warning for the crowdsource list. Only a little over a half hour left to submit (I may impose a 15 minute grace for those who submit a bit late, but after that no more entries will be accepted).

And we're officially shut! Thanks to everyone who submitted a crowdsource entry, we have a total of 38 people submitting lists this year. Now it's on to the tabulating of points...

Looking good. Well done Joey.

And well done team, actually.

Well, not for dropping Diana Athill, mind you...

Takeshi 69 or whatever Joey's got him down as above his going to be a massive miss I feel.

Also dissapointed at the forum for not getting on board with the Schafernakers this year, by the time I convince you all he'll be old goddamit.

Thanks for running this. And I'm assuming once the dust has settled and your sanity recovered we'll get a more detailed breakdown of scores on the doors for the 50+ group?

Thanks for pulling this together, Joey.  I trust there weren’t a majority of submissions that included Ray Sawyer to create more work for you at the last minute!

I didn’t include Prince Philip in my 2019 list as I’m beginning to think the guy is immortal....but as it’s the first year I’ve had time to do a list, I had nothing to lose by not including him.  If I’d included him in previous years I doubt I would have dropped him now given the way things seem to be going.

An interesting list and I look forward to tracking its progress.

He was my 4th sub, if that's any consolation.

Hey Joey, I didn't submit a crowdsourced entry this year but, just out of curiosity, why was Vitti disqualified?

So here’s the thing. The number 50 spot was tied with both Cleary and Vitti in that exact place. I could only allow one of them on the list, but the main tiebreaker (number of lists) couldn’t be used as they were on the exact same number of lists. So it was practically a coin toss. After going through debates in my head, I decided that since another well known Italian actress did make the list (Lollobrigida), I decided to cut her to diversify the list. Whether that is the right choice remains to be seen, but I’m standing by my decision here.

A difficult call caused by an tricky quirky h  hand of fate. If only I had of made Monica Vitti 4th on my list instead of 5th and directly swopped her with Janis Paige putting her in 5th then things would have turned out quite different and the dilemma avoided!

Yeah, we've never had a 50th place tie where all the tiebreakers are level before. I never considered it a possibility. I salute Joey's resolution of it.

Rosalyn Carter?  Interesting.  So a Carter-Carter departure ala Bush-Bush?   Funny she was barely discussed on these threads and pops up 47th overall.

She looks more likely to go this year than her husband.
