John Kenneth Galbraith

Found this as a quote from our esteemed candidate

"If all else fails, immortality can always be assured by spectacular error."

What's the chance of him faking his own death!

That quote refers to the immortalization of history, of being recorded. Ironically enough, Professor Galbraith has immortalized himself through the exact opposite method; being right, consistently, for the past seventy years. In economics, no less.

Its hard to judge because you have to look at it as this..

He may attempt to fake his own death but die durning the fraud?

So actually he wouldent be faking it at all.

Though what shall be the chances of that?

Galbraith's death, when it comes, will be a great loss to the academic and economic communities. Nothing less than a giant in his profession, John Kenneth Galbraith, with his Keynesian principles and influence on public policy during the mid-20th century, was perhaps the most influential economist of the 20th century.

Galbraith was recently interviewed for PBS, and, quite frankly, I was pained by his obvious decline and deterioration.

PBS has reported that Galbraith has, within the past two months, been hospitalized for pneumonia.

At his age that can't be good.

That's true. A great simplifier of very complicated ideas.

Found on Wilkipeda that Galbraith was also President John F. Kennedy's ambassador to Kenya in the early 1960s. This man had an extroadinary career!

An apposite quote from J K considering the devastation in the Southern United States.

“The greater the wealth, the thicker will be the

dirt. This indubitably describes a tendency of our time.” The Affluent Society 1958

Yes yes i've seen the frailty. I saw a recent photo of him in

a wheelchair, and i'm pretty sure he was hosptalized for

pneumonia. Though it is mainly all speculation i would think

he is a good bet to be a hit for even the remainder

of the year. ;)

The Clinton was being interviewed on C-Span a few months ago and said that he was glad that KKG was receiving the academic praise he deserves-"especially since he is in such poor health". my own personal prediction to die next.

I do hope that these posts do not prove BS to be right.Nothing personal to him, but I would hate to think that there is someone in the forum with accurate powers of prediction.

Come on Biggs, Wisdom , Gallo, etc....die, die, die!!

Well perhaps a loss for economic sciences but clearly

for the Deathlist it will be a gain. Galbraith one of the

canidates i have been watching for some time is most

likely near the end of his life with rumors galore of

his declining health. In my eyes it's only a matter of

time before closing in on another sucessful prediction.
