Who Should Be On The 2019 Deathlist?

Recommended Posts

Here's a few suggestions of who could come back.

Queen Elizabeth II: May still be in excellent shape, but it would be a disaster if she died off the list.

Peter Alliss: 88 next year and doesn't seem to be in the best of health.

Abdelaziz Bouteflika: Rarely seen in public and has had multiple health scares. Critics even call him "the living dead".

James Randi: Had a mini-stroke last year. Recovered, but rare for an 89-year old to survive a stroke.

Nicholas Parsons: 96 next year. Potential bedblocker.

Murray Walker: Also 96 next year, and born on the same day as Parsons!

Jacques Chirac: Very frail and is losing his memory.

Nobby Stiles: Late-stage dementia. WHY WAS HE DROPPED?

A list of names I thought I would offer as possibilities - Bob Newhart, Gene Hackman, Clarissa Eden, Robert Fyfe, Freddie Jones, Loretta Lynn, Cleo Laine, Debra Paget, Max Von Sydow, Stuart Hall (surely it's time for him to be knocked out), Kenneth Cope, Jean Boht, Sandra Day O'Connor, Mark Eden, Hans Blix

I don't want to include my entire shortlist, but Tim Conway definitely as well as Julie Gibson now that we know she's still alive!

Seems to be in good enough shape to seek re-election

I'd make an argument for Dilip Kumar to appear on the list

And I agree with @Drewsky1211 on QE II being back - for all that I doubt that she's going to die next year, her age means that she could, and her not being on the list would be undoubtedly the worst miss ever.

Other than that, I personally think that Gazza can be dropped, though I do think there should be a token younger person in there - don't know who else that could be, though.

Barbara Walters? Turning 90 next year. Haven’t been seen in public for years.

John Madden? Had open heart surgery a few years back. Turns 83, hasn’t made a public appearance in a while.

Jack Nicholson? Being super fat at 82, and having a history of smoking you can go at any second

Mikhail Gorbachev - Being that fat at 87 is a death sentence

Tim Conway - advanced dementia

Nichelle Nichols - advanced Alzheimer's

Roslaynn Carter - Frail

Little Richard - Frail, said he was in poor health

George Alagiah - Terminal cancer

Nobby Stiles - Cancer and dementia

Daniel arap Moi - advanced Alzheimer's

Violeta Chamorro - Brain tumour at 89

Bart Starr - Basically retired from public life, pretty frail as well

Jerry Stiller - looks absolutely terrible

Uh. my father hopes it's not this way!

Anyway Daniel Arap Moi's dementia is pure speculation. His family has always denied and he still seems quite into politics. Will make it to 100 the bastard.

Joss Ackland strikes me as a quite DL-y name, he's now 90. Similarly, although only 85, David Bellamy.

Freddie Jones is another one.

I think it's time Ozzy made a return to the list in the number 50 position and stays there until he goes.

He was on the first list in 1987 - the only survivor - don't miss him Committee......

More of a what if question rather than something that I would heavily push for the list, but does anyone think that Johnny Clegg is deathlisty? He’s certainly ill enough.

Joss Ackland and Geoffrey Palmer - both in their 90s and worth having on the list if they are still batting on 1 January 2019. I reckon Terry Jones is worth having on also. Should be room on the list for one Python from now until the last one croaks (either Palin or Idle in all probability).

Ted Turner was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.  Maybe worth a thought.

Another elderly actor worthy of consideration is Frank Windsor

Not to belabor a point, but I feel I must.  Average   lifespan following diagnosis is 5-7 years.  Just as likely to last 10 years as 1.  Not to say something else might not take him first, but I can't see him on the list on the basis of this alone.

I won't stop saying Jean Louis Trintignant : has stop chemo, he's in terminal cancer, turning 89 next year, looks frail, he's depressed since the death of his daughter in 2003… He would be a sure pick for 2019, wouldn't he ?

The only reason he might not be a sure pick for 2019 is because 2017 might have been his Last Christmas. Yeah though, pretty much a freebie on the bingo card so to speak if he is breathing Jan 1

Turnbull and Weir look more like 2020 hits from their public appearances but I may be wrong.

EDIT: Actually on review it's not just you - loads of people can't stop saying Jean Louis Trintignant - it's like a virus.
