Who Should Be On The 2019 Deathlist?

Jacques Chirac.

The former French president suffers from anosognosia & is no longer able to walk.

His grandson, who visits him regularly, revealed that his illness is "patient & impatient".

I think this means that he ought to be on next year's list.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anosognosia

He is on my deathlist EVERY YEAR.

You can have more informations about his health here . "Jacques Chirac is alive"

Dunno.

But this year was a particularly dry year compared to 2016 where we lost a lot of big names. Lots of low hanging fruit dying in their senior years.

Julie Adams (Creature from the Black Lagoon 1954 film), Jane Powell, Tippi Hedren, Debra Paget and Carroll Baker. They are all ranging from mid 80's until early 90's in age and all very obitable

Now he might not be dying. In fact he's a bit of a punt. But imagine the joyous write-up he'd get if he did go in 2019.

In the year of deal or no deal it has to be.....

I see one of the committee members is on right now, so let’s recap a few names that should be on the list next year imo:

Mikhail Gorbachev

Sidney Poitier

Jacques Chirac

Nobby Stiles

Jean Louis Trintignant

Fernando Ricksen

Lee Kerslake

I doubt most of these will make it on tbh, but I do think all of them would make solid deathlist picks...

Paul Flynn Mp looks to be on the way out. Don't think George Alagiah will see 1st January 2020. Trevor Peacock (Jim Trott in the Vicar of Dibley) has advanced dementia I believe.

Dementia/Alzheimer's is such a tricky one.  It's so subjective.  For every 1 you get right you'll surely miss on 3 others.
Even those that are deceased, I heard for 3 years Stan Mikita was on his way out, with the usual family denials.  This time the denials were accurate.
I've played Pat Bowlen in at least one DP each of the past two years, only to be made a fool of.
Then you pick Glen Campbell, he dies, and all is right with the world.
I think I'm going to leave the slow fades to the rest of you in general.  Someone who is 'surely' on the way out I'll make an exception for.  But my 'pin the tail on the Alz patient who will die' days are over.  IOW, Nobby Stiles, you can have him.

The first three or four of those are very, very Deathlistable names; the others less so

With you brother.  Unless the article had the phrase " diagnosed in 2010" or some such, they are just list blockers.

I am not trying to take the Micky here but Michael Parkinson, Michael Aspel, Michael Caine, Michael Heseltine, Michael Gambon, Michael Moriarty, Michael Palin and Michael Schumacher could all be considered good possibilities

Other names I am going to throw into the ring include Windsor Davies (It Ain't Half Hot Mom), Brian Murphy (Mr Roper in Man About The House and George & Mildred), Kenneth Cope, Jean Marsh (Upstairs Downstairs), Sheila Fearn (Audrey in The Likely Lads and Ann Fourmile in George & Mildred) and Christopher Beeny (Billy Henshaw in In Loving Memory)
