Late 20th century hit which shares its title with a film from an earlier era. The performers are generally regarded as one-hit wonders.

Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something.

Remember you're a Womble by The Wombles.

I think one year in 70s they were biggest selling band in UK.

Nope, not a patch on the likes of Led Zeppelin

The one biggie they achieved was biggest selling singles artists of 1974 - the height of glam rock. Slade and T.Rex were already on the wane but The Wombles beat the likes of Mud, Suzi Quatro and Alvin Stardust that year - all of whom had #1 singles.

Hmm, To sir with love - Lulu?

Sidney Poitier from the list was the main character in the film.

Neither of those but good guesses. Further clue it was co-written by a actor, and a musician whose sister died twenty years ago next month.

Ok, Georgy Girl.

Co-written by Tom Springfield, whose sister Dusty died 20 years ago. The film stars Lynn Redgrave sister of Vanessa who is on this years list.

If that's not it I'm throwing my toys out of the cot and not playing any more.

Top 10 hit inspired by an airline poster. Taken from an album whose title is an expression of outrage.

Was going to suggest Come on Go Off by KMFDM then realised there was no way that was a top 10 hit.

That's a bog standard answer.

I think it's Mosteratt Caballe with Barcelona.

I think Time is probably right, but if they cant use the toilet guess it might be Elton John with 'guess that's why they call it the blues' instead

Sorry, should probably have explicitly stated that time is quite right. I just smiley'd his answer because I was being lazy.

You were born in 1960. As your male I'm assuming you meant a song you born to rather than one you gave birth two.

The no 1 on your birthday was Please Don't Tease by Cliff Richard & The Shadows, the next one after that was Apache by The Shadows. so maybe one of them?
