Actually next year DL, after this year's epic fail (which is bound to happen), will bring back many old names. John Edrich, Ryder, Ozzy Osbourne, Pervez Musharraf and Bouteflika are those who spring to mind.

Well, the crowdsource list is currently doing worse than the Deathlist but I think that there will be a lot of hits on that list soon. I believe the Deathlist to be in the same boat as the crowdsource list...

Are they all gonna see 2020?

Likely. I have most doubts about Musharraf and Edrich, but the others should be safe.

Not too sure about Bouteflika..

Tbh he's juggling enough health problems that they could easily spiral out of control - might well be trotting out in the later rounds of the DL Cup by the looks of things

About Bouteflika.. Well, he's incapacitated from the stroke. But what's the history of these cases?

If you survive the stroke, is an early death more likely from that point on?

Though Bouteflika is already in his 80s, so not THAT early.

Too many variables for us to call it at this distance - a big factor being which bits of his brain took the damage in the stroke. If he can't move there's everything from fluid on his lungs to sepsis from festering sores on his skin (luvverly!). He's likely to get decent medical care, but he's old and potentially up for another stroke if they can't stabilise the mess.

We ain't exactly short of polls hereabouts but if there was one on him vs Mugabe I think the older one will last longer

Christopher Booker is retiring from the Telegraph "for health reasons". Considering Clive James still knocks out the odd article, in his condition, it must be quite bad.

Maybe he's just going to spend more time with his first love: those who operate child sex abuse rings.

I know him best as John Adams from '1776' myself.

Richard North says Booker is "gravely ill" so, yes, sounds quite bad. Definitely one for 2020 if he lasts that long.

Aye, up there with Desmond Carrington who finally quit radio well into his nineties (how ill have you got to be before you're incapable of wheezing into a microphone and mumbling about a few of your favourite tunes?).

Obviously, the Telegraph will have a suitable q/o already to go.

Seeking to fill the void left by the death of Prince Leonard of Hutt River?

85-year-old Elsie Eiler serves as treasurer, librarian, bartender and Mayor of Monowi, Nebraska. Why? Because no one else lives there.

Every year she secures funding for the town's traffic lights, files paperwork to prevent the town from becoming unincorporated, and issues herself a liquor licence. In the 2010 Census, the total population of Monowi was one (76.5 years old, female, white). The population nearly fell to zero when she battled cancer in 2011.

Got reminded of the utterly shite early 90s ITV gameshow version of Cluedo earlier today:

There were four series, and a Christmas special, each other which had a completely different cast. All were highly QO-able British actors. Pam Ferris is the only remaining Mrs White (pre-deceased by June Whitfield, Joan Sims, Mollie Sugden and Liz Smith). There's two dead Rev Greens (Robin Nedwell and Derek Nimmo), two dead Col Mustards (Leslie Grantham and Lewis Collins) and one dead Mrs Peacock (Kate O'Mara). Ms Scarlett and Professor Plum both have full dance cards, although seeing as the latter was played by people including David MacCallum and Tom Baker, perhaps not for long.
