Christmas updates!

1)Prince Philip: Discharged, walking on his own. Not going anywhere.

2)Daniel arap Moi: No updates, still in hospital.

3)Gorbachev: Fully recovered, about to be discharged.

4)Vishwesha Teertha: Miracolously recovered from a myriad of health issues (usual Indians, seriously), to be taken off life support in the next few days and life not in danger anymore.

5)Shin Kyuk-ho: Still in hospital, but life not in danger.

Plus I'd add Manolis Glezos, who has been hospitalized again but said to be responding to treatment, and another always-ill name who seems finally close to demise this time, but won't say for Deathrace interests.

Ding dong, the Seer is gone.

Cuba has recently appointed a prime minister for the first time in 50 years.

It's probably to start a power transition, so maybe it's time to watch Raul Castro?

Yes.

First, the Reaper has a sense of humour. Cope was the deceased half of Randall and Hopkirk ergo he lives.

Second, when Mike Pratt (Jeff Randall actor) was dying of lung cancer, he implored Cope to give up smoking. This worked for quite a while. As a result, his lungs were probably fitter than your average COPD sufferer to begin with, who smokes up to the grave.

Third, he was already misdiagnosed with mesothelioma, told he was going to die, only to find out he didn't have when he kept living. So the guy is just lucky in general.

Fourth, I think the will to live is strong as he (right up to last I heard) is principle "carer" for his wife Renny Lister who has quite severe dementia. In these cases, when one goes, the other swiftly follows, usually.

One name dropped this year was Jill Gascoigne. She was in the final stages of her illness 2 years ago, so I'd think she'd be back on 2020.

I think it's a safe bet to have this topic unpinned.  A new one for 2021 has been started.

Looks like the committee have already made their list.Wonder if they will reopen it if someone like Donald Trump or Boris Johnson announce they have stage 4 cancer and months to live.

There is also Ysanne Churchman (94) Phil's first wife Grace who famously perished in a fire on the night ITV launched.

Since Alex Trebek has been suggested several times. I suggest Johnny Gilbert who has been the announcer for Jeopardy since 1984. At 95 no telling how long he will be with us.

Perhaps his life in Jeopardy as much as Trebek's.

I'm going to pin this thread again until 00.00 01/01/2020.  We have lots of visiting guests right now, so they might need it for handy reference.

What about Roberta McCain?

The late John McCain's mom is turning 108 in less than two months!  I know some people live that long... but the mother of one of the most powerful men in the United States!?

She must have taken some elixir or something!

There's clearly something not right about Madonna. Be it illness or her rampant narcissism. Actually, that could be her killer blow,  the fact shes not the person she thinks she was. Even my other half whose a massive fan thinks shes loosing the plot - Madame X is a clearly a cover up for something.
