Secondly, Lux like we lost another 98-year-old unique leader in Grand Duke Jean. markb4 picked him and gets his first hit (consolation points for Don Lusk notwithstanding) though he didn't get too Grand a total having received 20 base points plus 8 unique points for 28.

So just to confirm, the consolation points are added to the total points too, right? So I have a total of 29.05 points?

Yes. You were 1.05 on previous scoreboards and will be 29.05 on the next.

According to my list I have a hit in my Hitchcock-themed HPDP 2019 entry with the passing of Doris Day. 10 points.

These are not going in the order I had hoped for, but with a themed list I am lucky to have hits at all.

A trio of Doris Day selectees benefit. The Old Crem a hefty 50 points, WidowsPeak 20, and a Calamity for Torva Messor as she gets a second base-5 hit.

Tim Conway is a hit for many folk here. He was also on Hollywood Squares during his long career.

Thanks for the spot. Indeed you can. 45 base and 18 unique for 63 total.

Though the star of the update is none other than Tim Conway, who for Americans has reunited with Ernest Borgnine/Harvey Korman/Ernest Borgnine, depending on the generation. He's tied for the 5th most popular pick in the pool and is currently the most popular hit, a factoid likely buoyed by astute poolers's noting of his Hollywood Squares appearances.

The Conway points parade is as follows:

markb4: 45 + 27 = 72

Wormfarmer: 45 + 27 = 72

maryportfuncity: 40 + 24 = 64

Sean: 40 + 24 = 64

theoldlady: 35 + 21 = 56

Clorox: 25 + 15 = 40

Sir Creep: 20 + 12 = 32

The Mad Hatter: 20 + 12 = 32

Prophet: 10 + 6 = 16

YorkshireBanker: 25 sub points

And with that a good time for a new scoreboard, which sees theoldlady knock msc off the perch and 5 previously-nil teams now on the board.

Could do with a Stopes-Roe obit to get off Zero.

Two Hawke-eyed late-swooping players benefit from Bob's death... Normally he would not be accompanied by any bonus, but it so happens he died on May 16, Notapotato's birthday. And so MPFC gets 20 base points plus 8 bonus for 28, and Book gets 10 base plus 4 bonus for 14.

Exu the big winner of this hit with 50 points.

25 for CaptainChorizo, markb4, and Prophet.

20 for RadGuy.

and

Bart Starr has packed. Don't have a cow, Wormfarmer, you get 30 points for catching this falling Starr, plus an extra 12 for being the only one to do so.

Took its time but the Mary Stopes-Roe obit arrived for Pedro. Bit of a bomb for him, as she only gives him 15 base points plus 6 for uniqueness, but it does see him bounce onto the scoreboard with his first hit:

Hmm

Pretty lively in the top ten - good game this year.

I've got Ms Blanco sitting pretty at #2 on my team. Who else has an a piece of improbable staying low hanging fruit bed blocking a prime position on their team?

Inactive couple weeks here at the Hartlepool. No one had Anne Hamilton-Byrne, however RadGuy did go Bowlen for Broncos owner Pat. 20 points for the hit plus a bonus 8 for uniqueness. Total 28. Not quite a strike, but points are points.

Saint Peter hears Dave Bartholomew knockin', and he can come in. Sir Creep's walking (up the scoreboard), yes indeed, with a whole lotta points points for him. 40 base points and 16 unique bonus points, to be specific.

Beth Chapman is a hit for three teams. Featured prominently on Dog's show long before the cancer so no fringe penalty here. drol and John Key both had her at the bottom of their teams, but drol has had more hits so gets 25 points to Key's 15. Book had her higher up and gets a more bountiful 30 points.

And now time for another scoreboard, which sees Sir Creep inch close to theoldlady's slender lead:

Verrrry interesting of msc to pick Arte Johnson... 20 base points, plus another 24 for the unique/Hollywood Squares combo. msc's now two for three on his unique Squares picks.

EDIT: Browsing through the masterlist, I had noticed I'd forgotten that the May 26 death of Prem Tinsulanoda was relevant to this pool. This has been duly remedied, and provides JoeMoneypenny his first hit (20 base + 8 unique).

With 5 teams picking him, John McCririck's death brings about a few possible dark horses in the race to the top.

YorkshireBanker wins the most out of this hit by getting his second sub hit and picking up 50 points.

The Unknown Man and The Mad Hatter each get 25. This is also the first hit for TUM.

the_engineer and Sean each get 15.

Apparently Savuka means "we have risen". Eight teams have risen now that Johnny Clegg has gone over The Crossing.

35 points for FixedBusiness.

30 for msc, drol, and Chorizo. Interestingly, all of drol's surviving main team also now have a current value of 30.

25 for Rad and Clorox.

25 sub points for Book.

And 20 points for John Key.

And so with that we have a new scoreboard. msc claws back the lead off the deaths of Arte Johnson and Johnny Clegg.

Judgment day has come for Justice John Paul Stevens. The US Supreme Court has ruled in an unanimous 9-0 decision that it is constitutional to give Clorox Bleachman 25 points for the first death from his substitutes bench.

After a month-long HPDP drought, a hurricane of Kathleen Blanco pickers benefit from her death, 9 teams to be precise:

John Key gets 40 points.

FixedBusiness, maryport and Sean 35.

Book, drol, msc, and Rad 30.

Valerie Harper was gonna make it to 80 after all, but not much further. Only The Unknown Man kept his patience with Harper in the HPDP, and receives 10 base points plus 12 extra (unique and Hollywood Squares) for 22 total.

No tears shed for the monstrous Robert Mugabe. One doesn't need to take an in-depth look at his resume to see he qualifies for the crimes against humanity bonus.

theoldlady the big winner of this hit with 45 + 27 = 72 points.

LFN 40 + 24 = 64.

Toast 35 + 21 = 56.

the_engineer 30 + 18 = 48.

gcreptile 20 + 12 = 32.

and The Old Crem had him as a sub and gets 25 points.
