First mentioned as a possibility here in 2005: Walter Wolfgang, founder member of the CND, long-time left-wing activist and one of the old lads who got kicked out of the Labour party conference during the Iraq War days, dead at 95.

Momentum tweeted the news - so they'd brought him back into the fold, right?

Leigh Rayment?

Site hasn't been updated since December 2nd. Not at all like him so something has happened.

Some of the pages don't even work anymore. Pity as it's the only complete record online of MP and peer records and honours etc.

Seems I'm not the only one who's noticed.

Thread updated to confirm his death. He went in for an operation... died of complications.

Sad news. His website I use a lot as it is one of the most comprehensive and complete records in existence of Parliament, peers, honours etc.

His site has its license until Feb 2020 then it may fall off. I might try and archive his work for reference sake.

The Grim Reaper is amongst us once more; all hail the Grim Reaper. In other words, Death List 2019 is alive and well once more.

Remarkably it looks like she has not yet got a QO. Articles only on the Irish version of the mirror.

What are the chances she doesn't get one at all?

Philomena Lynott has died.

Why post it on 3 different threads.

She had been mentioned on the other two threads and also has been mentioned enough on here to be seen as a notable death.

I'll just say, as I usually do, that ALL deaths should be posted in this thread, as well as in their specialised thread(s).

I can't see the point of having it otherwise.  But not many seem to agree with me.

Typographers probably don't deserve their own thread, but a word for the passing of Freda Sack. Among the fonts designed by her were BAA Bembo, which was used at most British airports in the late 90s and early 2000s:

And Foundry Sterling, the official font of Oxford University:

Dmytro Tymchuk, Ukrainian politician, activist and one of the country's leading military voices speaking against Russian imperialism in the region, has died. He "accidentally" "discharged" a "ceremonial weapon" while "cleaning it". Tch, always the way.

I've known since very young that vigorously rubbing your weapon will make it go off in your hand.
