Rate shadow deathlists

Recommended Posts

Is there a thread for posting shadow deathlists or deathlists of any kind and having them rated? I always thought it would be interesting. Comment here with your shadowlist or review someone elses shadowlist at the risk of your own being reviewed if its in the signature!

Categories up for review could be:

How many names are actually notable/household names

How many are actually likely to die

Any other major flaws / strengths you can think of

It's in my signature but perhaps I could start off with my list. Off the bat, I've got names like Kevin Spacey, Queen Elizabeth II and Jimmy Carter who are notable and household names but in all likelihood won't die this year. I've also got a few that I've gotten because they were discussed here / my personal research made me inclined to believe their health could be at fault despite me never hearing of them (e.g. a few Indian names on the list this year, and this site is very western/British orientated)

Also just about every second name was chosen just because of their advanced age rather than actual odds of dying from a terminal illness, which can make for a boring Deathlist.

Anyone else can feel free to take a stab :)

Its OK and there's a good few picks that are sure fire hits but alot of your list seems to be there solely based on age. My advice would be cut down on that and find people who are actually ill, theres plently. One more thing Kevin Spacey is a terrible, terrible pick.

My shadowlist in my post signature! Not sure what people will make of it but all thoughts welcome!

Decent list  @Prophet although there are a few names like Hutton Gibson that I don't recognise I think you will do pretty well

Many of your names were on my longlist but I tried to make my shadowlist a bit "different" when final choices were made.

@GooseberryCrumble I think that your list has potential for a good score this year. Lots of risky ones I see but also some presumably ill ones. Well done.

Mine is in my signature. It's not very good - lots of people who are just old and also too many hard to judge dementia cases.

Paul Flynn the Mp is hard to judge  - he plans to quit Parliament this year but is saying it's only severe arthritis which may not be fatal - through some evidence points to being something more fatal.

I do think through the 1966 England squad could see 3 or 4 go within a few months once the next one goes.

My #50 is usually meant to be a terrible pick lol. Last year it was Grace Mugabe, because she had crazy in her eyes. Coincidentally in 2018 there were rumours that her health was declining. Kevin Spacey I chose just because he seems to be going batshit crazy, if he wasn't already! I'll keep having my #50 as a bad pick for as long as I do deathlists! If he dies I'll come back to you for calling him a terrible, terrible pick though ;)

Definitely too many oldies though.

Question: Is there a Dead Pool game where we use our shadowlists against each other? Like we all just submit a normal team of 50 and the winner is just whomever has the most hits that year?
