Good work @Heef. Jeanne and Clive are long overdue. Things looking grim for Bob Hawke and Prince Leonard and... murky... for Olivia at best.

Willessee, Hadlee and Graeme Richardson have also been on the radar for a long time.

Is the Reg Watson on the list the right-wing Tasmanian historian or the television producer?

Reg Watson was @CaptainChorizo's pick. I had assumed that he'd gone for the television producer who is a much more well known name outside of Australia. Indeed, it could even be the illustrious Professor of Fisheries at UTAS.

More details will follow on the individuals in question once I have the time. I haven't completed the full validation of whether all of these people are still alive, dates of birth and the fullness of their connection to Aus/NZ, but a cursory glance tells me that 95% are good to go (pun not intended).

I'm far from knowledgeable about all things ANZAC, but Helen Reddy, surely?

Given the haphazard nature of this list's assembly, if all the panel of experts have missed is Helen Reddy, then that's not a bad outcome.

But fair call, her name should have been in the mix.

Helen Reddy is healthy as a mare, no reason to include her.

Kirk Pengilly, otoh.....glaring absence.

Ah. Bollocks. That's the trouble with how I'd used Excel to tally the numbers.

I'll have to go back and extract #51.

I had to double check to be sure, but there are numerous references to Reddy's dementia, and she has been in a care home since 2015.

Very hard to know what stage her dementia is at, and for this reason I would not pick her for a pool, but as part of a list like this, seems OK.

https://www.npr.org/2018/10/24/651795560/i-am-woman-helen-reddy-american-anthem-hear-them-roar

From this above article in Oct.18- " Reddy herself now has dementia and was unable to be interviewed for this story. But she told Houston Public Media in 2014 that "I Am Woman" was delivered from heaven. "

Number 51 on the list was "Superstar" Bill Dundee. Scottish born, but Australian raised before moving to the US at the age of 31.

Opening post updated.

I think it's fair to say that Australian tennis and (perhaps) Sydney are over-represented in the list.

I count 13 (26%) New Zealanders, 37 (74%) Australians.

New Zealand represents ~16.4% of the population of the combined weight of Australia and New Zealand, so from that point of view perhaps New Zealand is slightly over-represented too. On a population basis, perhaps only 8 New Zealand reps would be expected.

Anyway, there's the team. We'll see what happens.

Sadly, I just noticed that John Thornett, the last of the Thornett brothers died earlier this year. Great rugby player of more than 100 Test for Australia.

As most are aware, Andrew McGahan has died. He's obviously gained an ANZAC QO: LINK LINK

And another hit close behind. Mike Willesee. Again, no doubts about a QO here. LINK

Must admit Mike Willesee did surprise me. He was doing well at last report I read. Billy J. Smith, the Queensland sports announcers died the same day as Kerri-Anne  Kennerley's husband John, 28 Feb 2019.
