Aye, we have a fucking darts thread, so we might as well have this one.

Doyle Brunson just recently retired from chip spittin', I think he's well worth a watch.

Not even sure where to begin with this comparison, so I'll just ignore it, as I will this thread.

Both "sports" that are played commonly over beer and money, close enough in terms of comparison.

We actually do have quite a few separate threads for all these fake sports, not just Darts, but also Snooker, Chess and Cricket.

Wrong Jack in the wrong place!

(Been thinking of using that one ever since I saw the story...)

Maybe not the flush she was looking for.

Edit: Poker pool pick of mine though.

Lol... well I’m busy right now and catch up later today, but eyebrow was raised on him upon my 5-second glance anyway.  Guess he didn’t want to participate :(

Not very famous I premise, but I think I'd mention it here.

Emerging Italian poker star Matteo Mutti sadly dead at 29 from COVID-19. He was a leukemia survivor, and was cancer free when he got infected with COVID.

Reminder that Henry Orenstein still breathes and will be 97 on 13th September.

As well as a Poker Hall of Fame player, he's a Holocaust survivor and a multi-millionaire toymaker who holds the patents to 100s of toylines, including Transformers and Johnny Lightning.

I think I'm right in saying he's the oldest living professional poker player(?) But this isn't one of my "areas", anyone know of any others who are at least 85+?

Convicted sex offender charged in the death of pro poker player Susie Zhao.  The badly burned body of the 33-year-old, also known as 'Suzie Q', was found July 13th.  Jeffery Bernard Morris has been charged with first-degree, pre-meditated murder.

Mike Sexton, Hall of famer mentioned in the first post, has prostate cancer (and is already in hospice care):

That big news in the poker world. As noted in the article, Sexton, a poker Hall of Famer, was the long-time host of the syndicated World Poker Tour television show, putting in 15 years as lead commentator before retiring. And he's the standard by which all other poker commentators should be measured.

He will be dressed to the 9s.  Four of them.
His funeral will be a full house.
Damn straight it will be.

I got a million of them...

Sexton would’ve gotten a QO, btw.

I give the Sun credit for giving QOs to, I don't know how to say it, low-class but popular fields, like wrestling, martial arts and now Poker. These people, for better or worse, might have a bigger impact on culture than some architects or eccentric fashion designers.
