Took ill a few weeks ago, heart issues, had an op. I am as shocked as I was when I learnt bleached water couldn't save Colin Meads from pancreatic cancer here...

His own words quoted in the article above - “I love a drink but I know when enough is enough.

I'm guessing he'll be advised to cut down, I'm also guessing that his career will still place him on public view quite a lot. One to watch, eh?

Surley this is not good for somebody who has had major heart surgery about 6 months ago.  Ray Parlour is not helping his situation

Merely being Alan Brazil is genuinely bad for his situation.

Apparently enjoyed the hospitality at the Emirates a bit too much last night and hasn't made it in to his TalkSport show this morning.

Another no show on his TalkSport show this morning - Possibly been enjoying the Cheltenham Festival a little too much

65 in June - and given the state we've seen him in, he's already confounding the expectations of some dead poolers. Some of the most prominent hard drinkers (Oliver Reed, George Best) died well before Alan's current  age (Bestie was 59, Reed 61)

He's going to go one Cheltenham Festival to far, that lad.

The irony about this is that he was replaced on Mic by Chris Evans who used to be a regular no-show when he had the Radio 1 Breakfast show (for possibly similar reasons)

Live on Talksport a few minutes ago. He explained his non show as a heavy night. Nothing new.
