The 5th Crowdsource Deathlist (2020 edition)

Recommended Posts

I'd like to encourage people to vote for reclusive elderly golden era Hollywood actress and 'Hitchcock Blonde' Vera Miles who turns 91 next year.

Right, since I don’t think I’ll be getting anymore entries today, here’s a bit of a very early sneak peak on the standings so far. You might be asking, what is the number one person as of now? Well, I have no clue how to describe it, just know that they’re there. As for the person in number 2, I can safely say they won’t be giving out any anxiety about potentially not making the list this time around. The one in third place was one I thought might’ve had a chance of just not making it, but so far it looking pretty good for them to make it to next years list. As for the ones that have appeared on every list so far, there’s three of them. However, only one of them are also in the top 3. One of the other two I can say is kind of in a similar boat as the person leading. They’ll both be on the list though barring death. As for the third name, I can guarantee that I can give everyone a guess on who this person is and they’d all fail. Quite fascinating tbh.

Just to clear up any potential confusion, I will start accepting entries as soon as it turns to midnight in the UK to turn from the 22nd to the 23rd. Meaning that around 7 pm Eastern Time in the US you’re good to send in your list if you want to then. Or you can wait till December 30th, I’m fine either way tbh...

I realized that while I meant to have the entries start today, for some reason I wrote it down a day later. Tbf, I was still waking up when I wrote that post, so that might be why that happened. But for those confused (lol, my bad), you can send in your entries if you thought it began a day later now. Or you can wait till the 30th of December, I don’t care either way tbh...

After a 5th list entry, we have only one name appearing on every single list. And no one will probably be able to guess who it is. Probably...

Right, another list is in and now nobody has appeared on every single list. I should also note that at this time it is still technically possible to qualify onto the list with 50 points, although one or two more entrants will probably change that. Exciting, I know...

My list has gone in and will form my shadowlist after any fatalities between now and the end of the year are taken into account.

Should be no major surprises but I have put in a few of my those names that need promoting

And with that our first two names have crossed the 2019 crowdsource minimum point score to enter the list...

I give you...Joan Collins.

Now 86, she has outlasted her sister (cancer) by 8 years already. Unlike Redgrave, Van Dyke, Cleo Laine she hasn't performed on stage in decades, just making 1 or 2 screen appearances a year. Most recent project is a film opposite a former member of Bros, which should be enough to finish anyone off. Was in lots of well-known TV programmes in the 60s, made a lot of mostly unmemorable films in the 60s and  70s, culminating in the soft porn 'The Stud' and 'The Bitch' at the end of that decade. After that career revival, she went on to play her most famous role,  Alexis in Dynasty. No major health issues I am aware of (but then neither has Cleo Laine or a couple of others who are on the list primarily for being old).

Can't be bothered to upload a picture as, unlike some of the other suggestions on here, I'm guessing just about everyone on here knows who she is. Unlike, say, Johnny Clegg, her death would be big news.

So Clive James was at 143 points when he died. Honestly, I’m kind of glad he went now, as the early voting is showing that a lot of the survivors on this year’s list seem likely to be in the top 50...

Form Guide #4 Pat Smullen

Award winning Irish jockey Pat Smullen has raced for the last time but will this December mark his final lap of all?

Totally missed the fact that he still has pancreatic cancer, thought he was in remission.

She hasn't acted on stage in plays maybe but she toured  theatres and venues with her own show in 2016 and this year.

Our entry total is up to 9. So far all the entries are folk who submitted a list last year. I know a lot of people who are waiting till nearer the new year to submit their list, but please. If you have never submitted a crowdsourced entry before, or if you have submitted in the past but didn’t send one to me last year, please consider sending a list this time around. The more people who participate, the better. :)

I would like to recommend Joanne Woodward and act on an excuse to post a picture on here of her rather handsome husband!

Nice little dog too.

Seems like a lot of people from the 2019 list has a lot of fans. By this I mean that I had to disqualify 3 names when I did a snapshot of the current standings. Also, two names who generally rank fairly high on the list were close to getting the boot. However, they are safe, for now. (I’m using the snapshot as a way to track the top 50 overtime to see what changes may have occurred over time). Also, one extremely strange name made it on to the top 50. Yes, even stranger than the Pokémon dude...

Of course there’s still time to have your voice heard for the list, although this is typically the time where the least amount of people submit a list anyways...

Once again, I need to remind folk that putting a name twice on a list does not constitute in them getting more points.

Alright, just finished replacing the 30 points given to Big Bird and adding someone else's extremely eclectic picks. We are at 12, which is less than last year at this point, but nonetheless an interesting competition going on right now.

Entered all lists that have been sent so far. And yes, the race for the top 50 is quite fascinating. While I won't say too much about it, there is one name who's been on the list for a while that might be at risk of not making the top 50/getting DQ'd. They aren't really that A list either, which may lead to some voters forgetting about them. If they do end up not making the list, they will almost certainly die next year. So, there's that. Also, I know soon people will be putting up their list for the shadowlist, so whoever starts that trend, if you want your shadowlist to count as an entry for the crowdsource entry, please @ me so I know that you want your list to count. This is just to make it easier to tell who wants to enter than not. I'll post this part again whenever the first shadowlist post happens...

Emmerdale soap matriarch Annie Sugden AKA centenarian Sheila Mercier should definitely keep her place on this list.

Gonna have to disagree with that one. :P

She was at 143 points when she died, so certainly would've had a fighting chance to stay on if she lasted to 2020...
