One interesting scenario - should Boris Johnson lose his own seat on Thursday, he may try to remain as Conservative party leader by being parachuted into a safe seat, with that seat's incumbent standing down.

He can try this but I don't see how he could survive as leader.

Raab could and I wouldn't be shocked to see someone resigning so he could stand again.

Will be interesting to see who gets most votes now.

Tories by some margin....

Tory 13,966,451

Lab 10,295,907

LibD 3,696,423

SNP 1.242,380

The eagle eyed amongst you will have spotted the total Lib Dem and Labour vote is more than the Tory vote.

The last time this wasn't the case was in 1959.

Despite the tragedy don't fall for the narrative that Britain is a right wing country, we need to build a progressive alliance to head into the 2024 election and decimate the Tories.

I think we need more than Decimation that would only remove about 36

SNP got 45.8% of the vote - is that a mandate for IndyRef2 as they are trumpeting ? Not sure it is.

It's not but Boris can't really say it's not because he got even less than that and it's his mandate for Brexit.

Hence Sturgeon doubling down on it.

I've got a good campaign slogan I could suggest.

'Let's get Scottish Independence done!'
