Going back to the topic at hand, I would also want to put forward Beverly Cleary for next years DL.

Hello everyone (this is my first ever comment )

I’m fairly confident Pope Benedict won’t last next year if he survives 2020. He’s very frail from recent images I’ve seen (but then again I thought he seemed really old when he was Pope :P)

I feel like Glynis Johns is a big possibility as well. I can’t explain it but I just get a feeling that one day I’ll be scrolling through twitter and an obituary for her will emerge.

Apparently he is currently ‘seriously ill’ with shingles. Maybe he won’t survive 2020 as I previously hoped here

He wont last the week IMO...

Two of the Nolan sisters have cancer. Linda (which you guys already know she has cancer) and Anne (just revealed she is undergoing treatment too).

Originally it was me suggesting to put both sisters on the list for next year but after posting I saw it was suggested. So thought i'd edit and make that wonderful post instead. ;)

I understand that the Deathlist committee doesn't want to miss queens, popes & presidents, but I think that the most important name on next year's list should be Leontyne Price (1927), the most famous opera singer still alive.

Three years ago, she was still in good form...

She's on the verge of the yawning grave, but I won't convince members who think that Bill Gates' in-laws deserve her place on next year's list.

Andreas Meyer-Landrut turns 92 next year. He was chief of staff to former German President Richard Von Weizsacker, but more importantly is the grandfather of 2010 Eurovision Winner Lena

Sure he's been mentioned before but if the DL committee were ever prepared to break their ban on famous for being famous candidates - there's a clear contender

Another in the long line of "they're still alive??" names, former Guardian film critic and horse racing correspondent Derek Malcolm just showed up on a Sky Arts thing. Born in 1932 and looks like it, but still breathing. Apparently he wrote recently for the Huffington Post, but obviously no one read that...

Rex Reed & Kenneth Anger are also among the undead.

And does anyone remember Daily Mail film critic Christopher Tookey? Wrote a great book, had his own website & then he suddenly vanished without a trace.

You mean the Christopher Tookey who directed episodes of The Cedar Tree, which starred the recently deceased Philip Latham?

(Yes, I went there!)

I didn't know that he worked also as director.

I knew his  book "The critic's film guide" nearly by heart during the 1990ies. (I had not internet or imdb at the time, of course).

There is always the picky one isn't there. I want a death certificate, I want a second opinion, I want to win the lottery, I want my wife to love me. I have about four months to get that to you. But I will.
