Recommended Posts

Recorded in 2018 but shown now, Dick Cavett is looking rather old and frail in this Cavett and Ali documentary.

Okay, I'm posting it because I'm seeing him on TV right now (don't ask)..

..Radio host / regular presence on Fox News / stereotype conservative political grifter Dan Bongino had a big tumor in his head removed (can't have been his brain):

https://www.survivornet.com/articles/radio-host-dan-bongino-updates-fans-on-his-health-following-surgery-to-remove-tumor-doesnt-skip-a-beat-at-work/

It's probably advanced lymphoma but he's optimistic about the future.

I think 82 year old Arthur Scargill needs careful consideration.

The loud mouthed gobshite has been too quiet recently.

Needs to go on the list

American Film Institute list of 50 best Actors and Actresses

Two living I think - one male, one female.

Time for Sidney Poitier and Sophia Loren to join the list?

Sidney Poitier is definitely a must-have for next year list, but Sophia Loren ? I don't think she's on her way out (at least I hope so !)

If you are searching for strong contenders and obitable actresses from the 50-60's, here is a short list

- Ursula Andress (1936)

- Claudia Cardinale (1938)

- Brigitte Bardot (1934)

- Angie Dickinson (1931)

- Barbara Eden (1931)

- Tina Louise (1934)

- Yvonne Furneaux (1928)

- Caroll Baker (1931)

- Anouk Aimée (1932)

- Gena Rowlands (1930)

- Irene Papas (1926)

100% think Poitier should make the list in 2021,he has been frail for a while

Loren on the other hand could be here for a while, plus her fellow 60s Sex Symbol Compatriots(Monica Vitti and Gina Lollibrigada) are doing much worse and would be better inclusions to next years list

Two of Hitchcock's iconic leading ladies Eva-Marie Saint (96) and Tippi Hedren (90) would be better picks than Sophia Loren and most of those actresses named above.

Come on people - these are some of most beautiful women in world - if you’re going to try and oust Sophia we need photos.

Love him or loathe him but : "Sir Geoffrey Boycott's 14-year spell on the BBC's Test Match Special is over, with the commentator saying the coronavirus pandemic had essentially made the decision for him following his quadruple heart bypass".  80 years on 21 October.

Ian Hamilton QC looking/sounding like someone just woke him up from his death.

96 next September... I doubt he will make it.

David Prowse aka Darth Vader. 86 next year

Beyond the age, it's worth noting he also has dementia, and has withdrawn from the public eye. None of this is exactly new, however, and as we know, dementia patients can linger on for years and years.

These have probably been mentioned multiple times before, but

Khieu Samphan. Last surviving senior member of the Khmer rouge, will be 90 next year and spending the rest of his life in jail. Also in pictures taken 6 years ago, for example his wikipedia picture, he looks like he has a mold farm on his head.

One of the former Zambian presidents Kenneth Kaunda/Rupiah Banda/Guy Scott:

Kenneth Kaunda is turning 97 next year.

Rupiah Banda doesn't look frail, but he's overweight, turning 84 and was just diagnosed with colon cancer.

https://www.lusakatimes.com/2020/10/17/zambias-fourth-president-rupiah-banda-diagnosed-with-cancer-of-the-colon/

Guy Scott is just 76 but has Parkinson's disease and looks very frail. When you look at these photos from January he looks much worse than what he looked a couple of years ago.

Do you want another country with three ailing former presidents? That would be Nicaragua.

1)Violeta Chamorro is 91. She has suffered from brain tumors for years and was hospitalized in a serious condition in October 2018 following an ischemic stroke. According to her son, she is very frail now.

2)Enrique Bolanos is 92. His health was critical in August and apparently has been in a very serious condition for 45 days. Someway he has improved since.

3)Arnoldo Aleman is just 74, but in June he went to ICU with COVID. He has looked unrecognizable since.

Yeah .... even 25 years ago when my mum was diagnosed with it, the survival rate was 80%.  She was in the 20% though.  :(
