He was plainly on the way out for some time. At least the coronavirus didn’t get him.

Have been thinking the same about elderly I know that have died recently from terminal illnesses.

Trending on Twitter in the UK along with Throbbing Gristle, RIP Genesis P-Orridge and Psychic TV

Already a lot more clout than that Peruvian bloke.

Yeah, they’re trending in the US too. Seems like their more influential than some claim they actually are...

Or people are just glad of any distraction from coronavirus.

A very, very, strange man, but also a talented one. RIP to my 7th hit!

I think they did a lot for gender awareness, but they didn't make a nice impression on me.

Nevertheless, R.I.P.

To me it felt pretty clear they wouldn’t make it through the year, but I also still don’t feel like that are deathlist worthy.

Either Way R.I.P.

Good on the committee for getting this hit.  I had never heard of who or what Genesis P-Orridge was until I looked it up just now.

Well, aye - and the usual moans about how old the bulk of the picks are might be stifled as Covid-19 runs riot!

What folk seem to forget is that anyone and everyone can pop their clogs no matter what age - even when it comes to Covid-19. If you've got someone on your list just because they are old then you're doing it wrong.

Fuck, even the BBC have jumped on the bones of this one: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51893184

Ok, maybe I was wrong when I said he was a nonentity who wouldn't obit.

That said, with sport and the entertainment industry (major sources of news normally) shutting down, the threshold for what is newsworthy outside of CV is going to be so low that a lot of people who wouldn't have obited in normal times will do so, just so newspapers/online websites still have something else to write about, albeit something depressing like death.

I think it will go the other way around, this is gonna be like dying  on 9/11. A lot of lower tier older celebs or notables from decades past who usually still scrape obits will get forgotten under the radar.
