20 mins since Yahoo posted it and nobody else has reported it? A bit odd?

Looks like that article is just a scrape of the initial press release.

Thing is I’m looking on Twitter and there’s absolutely no talk about him dying anywhere. So it might be a clickbait article

I've not seen anything on several US based music websites, including one with a lot of traffic. Also, more tellingly, I'm facebook friends with an LA based music journalist who hasn't posted anything yet.

I think it'a hoax, but wait for the 404 to come out to be sure.

Tweeting until yesterday by the way.

The source is a website that just publishes press releases. There is a press contact and email address at the bottom for J. Bickerton PR, which upon a quick Google looks like a real PR firm, but I have no clue if that's a real email address.

I smell a rat.

Until Lady Cecilia Bartholomew confirms I’m calling it a hoax.

I'm going to guess that David Crosby's PR firm would have its own domain name, and not use Gmail accounts.

Did someone hack Yahoo? I can’t imagine them publishing it off a random website.

My guess is that Yahoo automatically scrapes and publishes all of the press releases from NewsDirect, since they by all means look like a legit service. But then that raises the question that if this is a hoax, how did it wind up being run in the first place? I can't imagine anyone could just submit anything and have them run it as an official press release.

Surely if you want to search for Crosby's death, you'd use Bing.

Not that Wikipedia is trustworthy but this page lists him as dead. Also a few other headlines come up when I searched for him, none of which however had any relevance

It uses the Yahoo Finance article as the source, for the moment I wouldn't trust it a bit.

And all of his recent edits appear to be primarily by the same person.

Facepalm for those who don't understand how Wikipedia works, once again. You really suck.

Almost an hour later… the U.S. media are useless.

Does a radio station tagging someone from Middlesbrough count?

Wondering if he is very ill, but not dead yet, and this was some kind of early draft statement accidentally sent out, quickly followed by the PR people telling the media outlets to disregard it.

Is this a hoax and he lives for years to come? Or did his PR team jump the gun and he has days/hours left
