Never heard this guy at his work. Was he as controversial on his radio show as the Reverend Richard Coles is every Saturday on BBC Radio 4?

Rush's family is longeve, he seems to be the exception. His grandpa lived to almost 105 and his uncle is still alive at 94. Bad luck.

You can have great longevity genes it's useless if you're a heavy smoker and drinker. I know he smoked heavy unsure what he alcohol consumption was though.

The only more fitting cause of death for this cigar aficionado would have been HIV/AIDS, considering the way he talked about its "homo" victims in the 80s. The only limits to this man's vitriol were what he could get away with at any given era of his career.

Interesting that he died of lung cancer. He started smoking as a teen, quit by the early 80s (so by the time he was in his early 30s) after a nasty case of bronchitis.

Continued to smoke cigars, but assuming he didn’t inhale, that wouldn’t have caused the lung cancer. Likely the early habit of cigarette smoking did.

That’s the kind of thing which makes me shit myself because although I quit a couple of years back, I was solidly on a pack-a-day for ~12 years.

Oh I assumed clearly wrongly that the 95 in your name meant you were born in 1995.

Nope, a few years older than that.

Now that I think about it I have no idea why I chose “95”. :scratchhead:

A cross between 1980`s Howard Stern and Infowars is how I would describe his show.

Assumed it was a tribute to the year we lost Elizabeth Montgomery, Jonas Polk and Eazy-E.

Nah. I think it was purely random.

Am I the only one on here who didn`t really intensely dislike him.I thought he was a bit of an arse but didn`t see him as the devil incarnate.Perhaps it is an American thing.Maybe because I lean to the right. Not that I agree with that much of what he said but he just seemed an attention seeking populist like many in the political sphere.

You watch him rot the mind of your grandparents and see how you feel about the guy.

Anybody that hosts a show celebrating people dying from AIDS deserves no sympathy. Good riddance.

As Rush started his career as a Top 40 radio DJ, it's only fitting that he goes out as my #1 hit for 2020.
