Squeezing Colin Green for info would unlock a whole lot. I assume you are going to do new A-Z for following decades. That first page is going to get awfully clunky with 60s band line ups who change in the 1970s and it might become a complete monster to track when researching if it trickles into the 1980s. Since the last update I posted, other than completing the letters M and S, I added quite a few featured artists to other letters but I think only three had missing info: Millard Thomas (Harry Belafonte's long time guitarist), The Curls and The Clark Brothers. I will contact Colin Green, he seems to have been in quite a few of these outfits and could probably help loads. I'm not sure what to do with the next lot yet. I will definitely do just the 1970s first, rather than lumped together with another decade like this was. I was thinking of going on GoDaddy tonight, buying a web page and making a start on 70s "A" there. I suppose I could just post a message/appeal for info here each time I've updated the site with a new letter? There were loads of Heywoods. So going by the ages above safer to put it as c. 1955 for now. Sue Hampson opens a whole different can of worms. Under the years 1953–1955 there's several ppl who could be her. However, what's ever more puzzling is her death. Online it's said she died around 1998. I can't find her in the GRO because I'd need her married name. Searched on Ancestry instead. Nothing by the way of official records, but there is this. Yes, I'm finding this harder to do than the 50s/60s. Obituaries make all the difference for information, and the majority of performers from the 70s are still with us. A little better with the 80s I'd presume, I've researched 1981 to 1987 with all the bands who had top 30 hits. However, I'll warn you now - there were so many synth records which effectively were studio productions with the occasional passing session singer. Stars on 45? The Tweets? Windjammer (an actual band) who I found no line up for? There still will be those ones waiting, and never mind that you are going for Top 75. So how do you decide who was on the record? There’s still a lot of people around from then to reach out to. I think the 50s and 60s are slipping out of memory for many involved in these hits. Above I’ve only managed to list the 12 who were on the team for the final itself. If anyone can give me the other 5 names it’d be greatly appreciated. According to the sleeve notes on Tough! by Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers released in 1966, Claude Bartee is referred to as being in his "late twenties" (so anywhere between 1937 and 1940 I guess) and a native of Detroit. https://www.amazon.com/Tough-PUCHO-LATIN-SOUL-BROTHERS/dp/B07T3TWYHJ. Claude Peter Bartee, Jr. b. 12 Oct 1934, d. 05 Aug 1993. Born in and resided in Indianapolis, Indiana.
