Not sure if this is of much help, but this link will take you to a site which references a Brian Dunn (born March 1940, died 7 September 2015) and has a pic of the Bruvvers with their names underneath as of circa 1962. http://www.wharfbeat.co.uk/wharfbeat_041.htm and Bobby Graham mentioned as drummer by then. Given this is around the time the session musos left and the band was formally formed, this is probably the line-up for follow-up hits (though no guarantee these bods were not just the face of the band).

Brian Dunn's Obit here: https://www.northyorkshirenews.com/whats-on/music/tribute-to-harrogate-s-brian-dunn-he-helped-build-early-british-rock-n-roll-1-7467212, references him appearing on several hits.

Now all you need to do is watch the live performances of all the hits by Joe Brown and the Bruvvers to see if there were any other changes, subsequent to the 1962 line-up.

Cheers for this. Will update next time I’m at my desk.

@Ulitzer95 Bit more success with The Bruvvers (my interest really stems from Bobby Graham, who was asked to replace Pete Best in The Beatles). Here is Pete Oakman's homepage history link which also has some timeline: http://www.peteroakman.com/history.html

Says Pete Oakman left the group in December 1963, Brian Dunn had also left and it looks like by 1964 (when the hits dried up) there was a whole new backing band, none of whom I can give any help on, but for this thread that doesn't really matter!

Whilst I'd suggest Tom Watkins' death is more apt elsewhere, from recollection he was a ubiquitous figure on the telly for some time. I'd say his IMDB hardly does him justice. Anyway, bit of a cunt is also my recollection.

He supposedly had cancer of the liver a few years back, which is why he was on my DDP team in 2016.

Francesco Gregori arrived in England in 1919, and met his future wife Maria Louisa Rossi in 1922. They were engaged in London’s West End and got married in the New Year of 1924 and Johnny was born later that year.

The G.R.O. says they married in late 1923 and he was born Primono G G Gregori. in late 1924. I presume one of the 'G's is for Giovanni - the Italian for John.

In 1949 Johnny met Joan, his wife to be.

I can't find a death entry in the G.R.O. no matter what permutation of names I use for him. Maybe he's still alive.

Hero! At least that's his birth sorted and we can work from there.

Ancestry has this record but spells it as Primino for some reason. See here. Any help?

There's a transcript error on the database I'm using. The original documents from the G.R.O. for both birth and marriage say the name is 'Primino'. The marriage transcript posted above is in error; that too should say 'Primino'.

There was a Francesco Gregori born in Willesden in 1957, could he be their son? He goes by the name Franc and work as a city analyst now.

Doesn't look like it. They had four children, Paul in 1955, Ann in 1957, Jane in 1959 and David in 1965.

For some reason Paul, Ann and David were given the surname 'Gregory', however, Jane was given 'Gregori'.   :scratchhead:

Here is The Cheetahs Euan Rose website. https://www.euanrose.com/about/

Born "just after the Second World War" could be any time late 1940s. Looks like he's still alive and there's contact details there. I guess you could ask him about your favourite band of the 1960s and where they are now! If I come up with anything else, I'll let you know.

Thanks YW, would've been helpful if I had spelt it right!

I found his business page on FB. Born 15 Sep. So added that too.

Don't forget that surnames on birth certificates are a relatively recent thing.  I can't remember when it changed, but certainly in the 1950s and 1960s no surname was entered for a child;  it was inferred from the parents' surname.  (If the parents had different surnames, the entry was simply indexed under both names, but there was only one certificate.)   Gregori is probably a typo or misunderstanding.

The Cherokees:

Found this site for David Bower, who seems to be based in Canada: http://belleislestudios.com/artists/david-william-bower/ and http://belleislestudios.com/memory-lane/

At the end of the second link is a tribute to John Woollard. Maybe he would have said if any of the others had died, maybe he wouldn't have kept in touch. Sadly little biographical information to help. I wonder if the site defaults to the current date when you click, but the copyright is up to date. The twitter account doesn't appear to have been updated since 2017. https://twitter.com/BelleIsleStudio Same with the blog on the site. Hmm.

Link mentions a middle name too, which I thought would be useful. Sadly there's nothing coming up in the GRO :banghead:

This is brilliant, all three! Just shows how much you can uncover if you keep digging. I wonder how many sleeves of that era were this detailed? I don't think any of my LPs have detailed bios on them!

Having just disposed of my Dad's vinyl collection, certainly the bios appeared mostly on classical and folk albums of that era. I'm guessing probably because the artists were not generally covered by the popular music press, or alternatively it was blurb to fill the back - after all, you can only say so much about classical composers that most purchasers wouldn't know, so the performer would get a bit of a write-up.

Took me quite some time to find that pic for The Countrymen though. You gotta think obliquely in search terms and have the patience of a saint to scroll forever through a lot of the same info. As I'm sure you are discovering!

Bloody Valerie Carr is turning out to be a nightmare. There's a magazine called "Jet" in Google Books, but not much coming from that, itty bitty gossip. And did she marry? What then? Given up on her, tbh.

The Collins Complete UK Hit Singles book says she was born in New York City in 1936. Couldn't find anything more online.

Yeah, it's consuming a lot of my free time! D has been quite successful. Just two "total blanks" – Charles Dickens (aka David Anthony) and Kenny Damon.

E is proving to be a nightmare though... loads of obscure "low hit" wonders!

Had a look on Ancestry...

David Waite is possibly dead. < Sadly doesn't list a DOB so dubious if this is him or not

David Kelsey is dead.

Found some Alan Beach records. Looks like he's either still living or emigrated because he hasn't died here.

Interestingly @Ulitzer95 you might not be able to find Lyn(n) Cornell in birth records for Liverpool in 1940, because the clipping here seems to suggest she was born in 1936 (but what do they know?). Surely her marriage to Andy White in April 1962 might have a record somewhere which would indicate her dob? I dunno, I wouldn't know where to begin, think you have to register for Ancestry.

Edit: Remember the link: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/62-12-Ephemera-Margate-1963-Article-Lyn-Cornell-Dreamland-/382879128368
