In any event I have found a promo which indicates as follows:

 

Glenda Hyam: b. Johannesburg, 8 April 1955

Ingi Herbst: b. Johannesburg, 26 January 1957

Jenni Garson: b. Johannesburg, 30 January 1957

Lee Tomlinson: b. Johannesburg - difficult to read but I think it says 29 August 1963. It might also be 1953 or indeed 1958! I can't zoom in clearly enough!

Now this may suggest she was born even earlier than 1953 - could she really have been a vocalist in a band at 11? Probably knocked a few years off! But who knows. I think we can rule out 1958 and 1963 for her!

I'll start with this one!

Gold mine – added all their DOBs. Charlie Brennan... so Wiki says for their Eurovision performance in Paris they added him as a drummer. He's listed as a member on there, but not on Rate Your Music or Discogs.

Now on the album and record covers. Some of them (presumably taken beforehand just feature five of them, but the accompanying album has six faces as do some versions of the single). The jury's out here. What do you think, a member or should I scrub him and add a note underneath?

I'd probably go with "Promotional Member" as you've done with others. I mean there's another two who did the actual performance at Eurovision replacing two of the band but aren't on the record. (Can of worms...)

Definitely not the Scottish band! So the deal with this one was to look up the arranger Joe Malbo. Which turns out to be an alias of this guy, Pinuccio Pirazzoli. Who is definitely most certainly the guy playing the guitar on the TOTP clip!

 

I think we can safely say there were 4 session singers there for dressing. I just can't get a good enough resolution on the album to read the bottom which might have given us a clue as to the identity of these people.

Cheers, added them all. It definitely says 29.8.1953. Which browser are you using? On Safari if I put my mouse over the picture without clicking it and wait 3 seconds it magnifies it.

That makes sense – I was reading a newspaper article on them earlier where they were complaining of being duped out of royalties, hardly making a penny off records that sold in the millions! I've added a note about Circus playing the instruments. I'm not going to try and find out who exactly though!

... and I think for the sake of my sanity I'm going to ignore the bit about Tomlinson playing in a 60s band!  I'll assume the author of that site has made a mistake or she was indeed 11 at the time of contributing vocals (I guess not totally impossible – the lead singer of the Cockney Rejects, above, was just 13 when they first hit the charts!). I guess when she dies, we'll find out. South African records are basically non-existant on genealogy sites so no way to pull up records, especially if she kept changing her bloody name!

Anyways, cheers for all of this. The section looks a lot more complete now. Another 20 names in the last C section (I probably won't get time til Sunday) then onto D. Getting through them relatively quicker than I thought!

Had a look at the Song For Europe and the final in Paris and they all seem to be there! Forget my nonsense, who on earth am I thinking of? Somebody had subs on in Eurovision! 

 

It's quite clear Brennan's vocal on the call-repeat phrase jars in the final!

 

So only Brennan as promo I'd say.

I used to work with Lee twenty years ago. She is alive and well and living in Kent. She goes by her married name now which isn't any of those above. I will DM you that if interested.

I had a look earlier, but didn't dig too deep. Used their names from the Hebrew Wiki to try and get somewhere. It seems only Reuven Erez had a career away from the group. He seems to have a profile in Israel to this day. As is often the case with these groups, the girls often get ditched once they've served their purpose!

Tried to locate those three from CHA on Ancestry/ClustrMaps to no avail. Too many ppl with similar names. This is probably Anderson but I'd need a spouse name or a rough age from elsewhere to be sure.
