Is Betty their mother? :P

Tbh, not completely useless information. David says on his own site that he was born in 1955 and "brought up in" East Yorkshire. Assuming David is his actual first name, there's only five people by that name born in 1955 in England and Wales. Locations are Chatham in Kent, Bromley in Kent, Southampton, Tavistock in Devon/Cornwall, and Sunderland, County D.

Problem is you do a search for the brother we need, John Crocker (I tried births from 1949 to 1959) and literally none of the above places reappeared! *grumbles* Family must've moved a lot!

Sometimes you just got to wait for the obit. :glare:

I remember seeing Dave play a local pub several times during early 1990s as part of a duo. If only I could remember his accent!

Improbably touted as British rivals to The Osmonds - last time I heard them was on Darryl Bullock's awesome Worlds Worst Records radio show. He has a habit of saying in his opening announcement; "do we have some crap lined up for you?"

You're sure they still breathe, right - because it's not like they've been a prominent or popular feature on 70s revival gigs or owt!

Yes, I gave the song a listen when I was researching them. Utter rubbish!

No, not sure at all. I've used the same rule that Wiki employs, if their birth details make them younger than 90+, they're auto listed as living on here.

I couldn't find any trace of them post-1970s at all actually! Their mother's maiden name was Drury and they were all born in the Southwark/Bermondsey area. That should help locate them in the records once they start popping off.

Fair enough - though if you're really desperate to find someone it's useful to take what details you have and file a fraudulent benefits claim in their name. The sniffers they put on running that scum to ground can find anyone!

Genuinely surprised about that but see he had cancer. My dad met him once.

If anyone wants a laugh look at his run ins with the law on his Wiki page.

Or read the rip below:

In 2005, he fought off bankruptcy but was arrested after police were called by bailiffs who went to his home in Glossop, Derbyshire. He poured petrol on the bonnet of a bailiff's car and set it alight with the bailiff still inside.[3][4] Fontana was remanded in custody on 25 May 2007. He later appeared at Derby Crown Court dressed as Lady Justice, complete with a sword, scales, crown, cape and dark glasses, and claiming "justice is blind".[5] He dismissed his lawyers.[6] On 10 November 2007 he was sentenced to 11 months for setting fire to the car but was released because he had already served the equivalent of the term, having been held under the Mental Health Act 1983.[7]

In March 2011 Fontana was arrested at the Palace Theatre, Manchester, after failing to appear in court in Wakefield, over an unpaid speeding fine.[8]

Headboys.

Nothing of import - I saw a lovely interview with them which referenced another initial interview with them - unfortunately that initial interview is not available on the net. And it's the one we need!

Although I think they may have been formed in Edinburgh where they were at the time, the preceding group Badger originally seemed to hail from Dundee. That is apparently where Lou Lewis is today. Plenty on Calum Malcolm except a bleeding bio.

Heatwave.

All I have is Eric Johns Rasmussen. Apparently born in Jamaica, his artist page says out of Los Angeles and now seemingly based in Australia (Sydney?): https://www.sydneypartyentertainment.com.au/eric-rasmussen

Can't find a lot on Roy Peter Carter (English by Jamaican descent) or Bill Jones (aka William L Jones) (b. Dayton, Ohio): https://worldradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-Business/Music/Archive-Cash-Box-IDX/70s/1979/CB-1979-06-02-OCR-Page-0008.pdf

Sadly I got nada. To my surprise there are many ppl called Eric Johns Rasmussen from LA. I can't find a record of him being born in Jamaica strangely. And Ancestry doesn't really have Aussie residency stuff on there.

Seems to be plenty out there on The Headboys but limited basic info about the members.

Still a vibrant and going creative concern - seriously, I'm gutted at the cancellation of UK festivals this year because Hawkwind on the same bill as Pure Reason Revolution was looking to be one of the best days out I'd had in ages. Turner (long gone from the main band) and Brock (mainstay of the outfit from the start) are 80 and 79 this month and we're talking miracles on the level of that which allows all four of CSNY to breathe. I mean, it's not like this band or their audiences are strangers to all manner of chemical potions. The legend has it that Lemmy was fired for taking the wrong drugs. Factually incorrect but metaphorically precise!

Headboys Revisited.

Not that it's going to be much help, but found out Lou Lewis' real first name was Brian (So possibly Brian Lou[is] Lewis?) and he attended Harris Academy, Dundee, later becoming a teacher?

Calum Malcolm appears to have attended Edinburgh Academy, leaving there in 1971: https://web.archive.org/web/20131019072238/http://www.linnrecords.com/linn-calum-malcolm.aspx

Cheers! Got Lewis, he was born 1947 in St. Andrews ward of Dundee.

That would put Malcolm's DOB somewhere in the range of 1952 to 1956 (I widened it up to 1950 to 1956 just incase the article has the year 1971 slightly off though)... no Calum Malcolm born in Scotland at all between that 6 year range. There IS however a Callum James R. Malcolm, born Canongate and Portobello ward in Edinburgh in 1954. Is this our man? What's the point in dropping one "L"? His real full name must be listed on copyright records somewhere online surely given that he's a producer?

I mean it is very close isn't it? Unless there are other Edinburgh born Callum Malcolms in the same age range...

The area of birth would tie in with him attending the Academy

And it wouldn't be the first time a transcribed registry office went for the more usual spelling....:D

But we just don't know! It's like we can taste it...

The different spellings have spooked me but I'll put c. 1954 for now as it's half way between the range we get from his school leaving year (I sincerely doubt anyone left Edinburgh Acy prior to 16 unless they were kicked out!).

Have you consider, you know, going outside and getting some fresh air? Taking a walk maybe?

Or stamp collecting?

Or photographing postboxes?

Or photographing paving stones?

Or anything slightly more interesting and less tedious than this?

I was actually out for a late walk after meeting friends for dinner and I updated the section on my iPhone.

Meanwhile, you probably have your arse firmly planted at your computer screen all day. And having been blocked as Miracle Aligner, you've created a new account to pointlessly waste your time trying to antagonise people on here. So the joke is very much on you.

Most be really fucking good friends if you can't maintain your attention on them for the duration of a fucking meal without checking this site.

And yes my arse is firmly planted my computer screen - what kind of idiot who go to a Covid petri-dish of a restaurant at the moment? Unless they were dumb enough to think a tenner off the fucking meal was worth dying for thanks to our stupid government?

Read the sentence again.

"I was actually out for a late walk after meeting friends for dinner and I updated the section on my iPhone."

Anyway, I've no time for you and I refuse to interact with you again. Go away.

That's only half the matter though.

Yeah people who've lost arguments tend to stop taking part in them.

I am not endangering myself for going out for a bloody meal.

1) I had COVID-19 in March, as I mentioned on here at the time. I've since had a private anti-body test and it came back positive as expected.
2) Even if I hadn't already contracted it earlier in the year, I'm perfectly healthy, not in an at-risk category and there is no reason for me to shield. For the vast majority of younger healthy people who get the disease, it's no worse than a seasonal flu.

If you choose to live your life in an isolated bubble of paranoia and have fallen victim to the mass media scaremongering, then you're the fool. The economy has to keep running so people like myself can pay for your state handouts.
