Amazing, thank you! I did do some Googling recently as he fell off radar in recent years and I did wonder if he had died without coverage.

This FB page about Judd suggests he was born 1931, and the birth records back that up on FreeBMD so I'll go with that.

NB: Proctor was born as Judd Procter. The different spelling in surname came about as a result of a misprint on a Parlophone single release. Some sources online give a year of birth of 1930 or 1933 but the birth records confirm he was born in 1931.

Updated for the death of Proctor and added a note. Fenton, McCarthy and Powell are likely deceased(?) so I assume Proctor was the last living member of this act.

Genuinely surprised he died off radar. He was quite a renowned guitarist during his era.

Still bloody waiting on a single news source covering the death of Joey Ambrose from Bill Haley and his Comets before updating their section (every member is dead now). Posted all over FB and Twitter. Media being uselessly slow in spotting it.

I'm only bothering because it might help searches later, I believe this info is up on the Angels Wiki page anyhow.

Joey Welz (wiki). He's 81 this year and was the pianist for the group from 1963 to 1966. There is also Louis Torres, who is 75 this year. He was a bass player for the group from 1961 to 1968. Later quit music altogether and is now a pastor.

NB: Lineup for this hit isn't 100% clear. This link mentions that Perry, the Barrett brothers, Adams and Lewis went on a UK tour to promote the hit, and this forum conversation explicitly states that the latter four were previously known as "The Hippy Boys" and were recruited for the tour. This site specifically credits Bennett, Jackson and Malcolm for recording on the hit, and other sites state Perry contributed. So safe to assume that at this early stage of their existence there was a studio band and a touring group / Hugh Malcolm is often referred to as a "legend" online. He's so much of a legend that I can't find any bio details, though he is often referred to in the past tense.

Aston Barrett and Jackie Jackson are definitely still with us. Kudos to anyone who can find out what happened to drummer Hugh Malcolm though.

Probably Mr Bilby would be content for contact about his splendid tome.

Kudos is yours.

Updated. Another blank filled in. I may get in contact with the author if I choose to do more with this project. I've pretty much parked it for now as got too much going on elsewhere.

Updated entry for Labelle following the death of singer and actress Sarah Dash (wiki), at the age of 76.

Also a prominent session singer, notably on the Steel Wheels album by the Rolling Stones. Become good friends with Keith Richards as a result and joined him on several tours where she performed an incredible version of Gimme Shelter.

Sue Thompson dead according to Wikipedia.

I’ve searched Google, FB and Twitter and can find fuck all, though I am quite drunk right now, so I’ll investigate once normal service resumes.

Updated both the 60s and 70s entries for Status Quo.

I knew Lancaster's health was touch and go over the years, but were we are that he had MS?

Sue Thompson confirmed dead at 96.

I believe she was the oldest living artist to have had a hit in the U.S. Hot 100.

Ray Anthony had "Peter Gunn", which peaked at #8 a few months into the Hot 100's existence.
