Notable Coronavirus Victims

Recommended Posts

India's struggling with COVID.

Indians we've lost 29.4, 30.4 and 1.5 to covid:

29.4:

Riyaz Ahmad (1958-2021) 5-time Member of the Legislative Assembly

Rajendrasingh Baghel (1945-2021) Longtime politician

Laxman Giluwa (1964-2021) Parliament member 2014-2019

30.4:

Chandro Tomar (1932-2021) Sharpshooter, internet fame

Sanjivi Sundar (1938/1939-2021) Transport secretary, bureaucrat

Jagdish Lad (1977/1978-2021) Bodybuilder

K. V. Anand (1966-2021) Bollywood cinematographer, COVID and cardiac arrest.

1.5:

Debu Chaudhuri (1935-2021) Sitarist, also had dementia

Mohammad Shahabuddin (1967-2021) Parliament member, murderer

Bikramjeet Kanwarpal (1968-2021) Actor

A cruel but important question to us: Who's next?

Chandro Tomar's sister Prakashi Tomar (b. 1937) is probably not vaccinated yet.

Kumar Aiyappan Pillai (1914-2022) probably vaccinated

Pratibha Patil (b. 1934) Probably vaccinated, as well as the former prime ministers.

Philipose Chrysostom (1918-2021) Religious leader. Hospitalized on sunday for COVID symptoms but tested negative. If he won't catch covid, he'll probably die of something else this year. Or go on for another couple of years.

Gowri Amma (1919-2021) recently survived covid but how long does she have?

Randhir Kapoor (b. 1947) recently lost his sister Ritu Nanda (1948-2020) and brothers Rishi Kapoor (1952-2020) and Rajiv Kapoor (1962-2021). Currently in hospital with covid and is/was in ICU.

and of course we're all afraid that Dilip Kumar (1922-2021) will catch the virus.

I missed Philipose's hospitalization. Gowri Amma has always been negative. TBF COVID in India is killing way more young people than these old bastards. One centenarian that did not take the vaccine is H. S. Doreswamy, as he reportedly "never leaves home".

Saalumarada Thimmakka receiving treatment after testing positive for COVID-19

EDIT: she is not positive, the title is badly written. Just she could not be admitted to hospital due to shortage of available beds.

Meanwhile some younger Indians have died:

2th May: Damodar Barku Shingada (b. 1954) Five-time Lok Sabha member

S. G. Neginhal (b. 1928) Forester and conservationist

4th May: Subhadra Sen Gupta (b. probably before 1950) Popular children's book author.

Freedom fighter, Gandhi's and Edwina Mountbatten's secretary V. Kalyanam also died today, however no death cause has been mentioned. He was 98 so it could've been anything

Argentine broadcaster Cacho Fontana hospitalised after being reinfected with COVID. This summer he was not expected to live. His death was announced yesterday but he personally denied it and said he will be discharged in days. Do we believe him?

Football player and manager Carlos Timoteo Griguol hospitalised with COVID and in a critical condition. His death was announced yesterday but his family denied it.

Discharged.

Randhir Kapoor is now out of ICU, but actor Aniruddh Dave (b. 1986) has been in ICU for a week and archer Jayanta Talukdar (b. also 1986) for four days.

Legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh tests positive, but his condition is stable. Would be ironic of he was outlived by his older pal Fauja.

It's not 100 percent certain Fauja is older since he uses fake d.o.b.

Even if he was 15 years younger, he'd be older than Milkha Singh.

According to Kate Garraway in her latest update, Derek Draper is unable to move and struggles to communicate. Wasn't a massive Draper fan before this but you wouldn't wish what has happened to him on your worst enemy and I thought their documentary was very touching. Hope he recovers but it's going to be a long road.

Milkha Singh hospitalised after drop in oxygen pressure. Continued vomiting and diarrhea, stopped eating yesterday.

They say it is a precautionary measure...

Times obituary for Freda Hodgson, aged 107, who was noted as being one of the oldest people in the UK to survive COVID-19 back in May.

Ran a tea room in Rhodesia back in the day and once cooked for the Queen.

Also the only person of the aristocracy to have ever been listed on the "Oldest in Britain" website (which tracks people aged 107+ in the UK).

Some updates on COVID-struck Indians, before the virus disappears from the face of the world:

Bhuddadeb Bhattacharya is stable. Given how advanced his COPD is, I'd say he is utterly fucked.

Mlkha Singh is stable and expected to be discharged within days, but his wife (Nirmal Kaur)'s conditions has slightly deteriorated. Despite them downplaying the situation, Milkha was critical when first admitted to ICU and required heavy oxygen flow. He is still on oxygen. Don't think he will die, but he was quite a guaranteed to see 100 before this, now I  have many doubts about it.
