I'm having a break from this pool this year; until now I've been too busy trying not to die myself without needing to think about other people dying ^_^

I'll watch from the sidelines and join again for '21-'22!

I left out Michael Cullen - I was nervous about a QO because he's a New Zealander. Probably a mistake by the looks of things.

I left out Killer Tim Brooks because I was nervous about a QO for him too - my knowledge of the wresting world is piss poor but it seemed he was at least one notch down from Bullet Bob. Probably another mistake by the look of things.

I included Peter Kay because it feels like the 21 slot should be someone a bit non standard and even if he's not ill there are still a number of exit routes open for him - Covid, heart attack, dying on his arse if he goes back to stand up etc.

“Killer” Tim reminds me a lot of Rip Oliver, who got nearly nothing in terms of QO, so I think you likely made the right choice there. Do agree that I’m probably going to regret leaving out Michael Cullen though...

High risk/high reward first place spot there! If he goes, it'll be very quickly too so you never know.

I left out Killer Tim. Armstrong is a Hall of Famer, Brooks is an 80s journeyman who never had a big memorable role in a major company. He only obits if he dies notably, either through some horrid accident, or by dying on the same day as a far more famous wrestler so the press can do the "it was a tragic day for wrestling fans..." story like how Brickhouse Brown managed to get a BBC obit in 2018.

As for Cullen, I know NZ obits rarely happen, but he was a Deputy PM and he got knighted by our Queen Libby the Second. So if he can't get anything, I give up all hope for the country!

Killer Tim is like a 100% deather, but his obitability is shaky at best. He's a Pro Wrestling Hall of Famer and not a WWE Hall of Famer which brings his chances down a ton. Gave him a pity spot in case he somehow manages an obit.

Yea a knighted high-ranking member of a former commonwealth nation should obit.

I really like @gcreptile's Greg Zanis pick, I never even considered him for an obit.

Zanis had a CNN mention, so there’s a high likelihood he gets something imo (I didn’t pick him because I was already queried about him in the cup so out of respect for the poster I didn’t pick him).
Also reptile wasn’t the only person who did pick him. :P

Yea I never saw that CNN article, I was kinda out of Cup play at that point lol

And I now see half the teams have Zanis, my apologies folks you are all legends

I'm mostly happy I didn't miss any obvious name. There's always a bit of luck involved, like this year, with the Ed Genson non-obit and Denis Goldberg as a last minute hit. But as long as the research still works, there are at least the basics there to do well (I guess I should have researched Tony Mills more, and putting Lee Noble so high, well, his recovery after 3-4 (?) internet fundraisers was a bit unforeseeable and slightly unlucky).
