I will continue to keep you posted as I learn more. Thank you all for caring. Bev" That's out 4th hit then.

The Daredevil 1,189 Posted April 27 More from Bev "His ability to speak is complicated by factors I can’t yet disclose. When the relative I’m in touch with visited him a month ago, he did not communicate with her. He is not ambulatory. I’m not sure for how long this will go on. He is not in pain. His eyes are open and he seems to be watching what’s happening around him." 2

arghton 6,697 Posted June 11 Detailed report on his illness from his wife. English, shorter version here. Important parts: - Chomsky is currently hospitalized in Brazil, his wife's native country. - He suffered a massive stroke in Arizona in June 2023 and was first treated at a local hospital. After regaining consciousness his wife took him to Brazil by air ambulance with two nurses. The trip is described as "long, painful and stressful", had to make two stops and he was admitted to ICU when he arrived. - He is now out of ICU, but visited daily by a neurologist, speech therapist and a lung specialist. The right side of his body is numb. - "Has difficulty speaking", seemingly the only example given of him communicating is that he can raise his left arm. However, she claims he reads the New York Times every day. 21 1
Jonah 180 Posted June 12 His whole life, he was numb to the right and only raised his arm for the left. His body's just following suit. Joke in poor taste apart, I do wish him a speedy "recovery" (whatever that may mean at his age). It sounds like he could have died on the way to Brazil. However, if his condition still hasn't significantly improved a year later, it likely won't until his death. I also vaguely recall Piers Morgan interviewing him in June 2023... Coincidence? 1
