Watching the Stanley Baxter thing on channel 5 . Done a quick google check. Still alive and 92 years of age.   QO a definite.

Here's the Oldie interview with him from his 90th in 2017 - was still getting out, fishing, etc.

Although I'm a fan of his so hopefully he doesn't fall foul of the curse of Paul Bearer's Threads...

He was interviewed on my local ITV station, Anglia News, last year about his opposition to the expansion of the local brewery in Southwold.

He looked fucking old but very alert and sprightly.

He looks easily 10 years younger. Appears to have all his marbles in tact

I keep seeing repeats of As Time Goes By on shows like Drama or Yesterday and forget how old he is now.

I loved Geoffrey Palmer in just about everything (well, those I remember), though I could  never get on with As Time goes By.

Really sad news though a grand age (was he ever young?)

Ria's cooking can't have helped though... #OneForTheTeenagers

Cock-ups on the catering front there as well!

Died peacefully at home after remaining active till nearly the end. These things happen.

Bloody good actor though. Beyond the usual suspect comedies (and no doubt Willz has mentioned his Doctor Whos) Hot Metal was a fun but forgotten 80s sitcom, with him and Robert Hardy.

Just Wendy (86) and Nicholas (59) left now from that dining table.

RIP Geoffrey.

Really sad departure. He was in everything - Dr Who, Morse, Blackadder, Poirot, Butterflies, even Paddington. Great innings as others have said. Like Robert Hardy it feels like a miss to have never included him but for now RIP.

Watched Hot Metal a few months ago. Not a patch on Drop The Dead Donkey, mainly due to lack of topicality, but still holds up well.

He was one of my favourite actors as I loved him in As Time Goes By.

Sad one this. Consummate professional, been in everything over the years. Special shout out, as I don't think it's been mentioned here, for his role in the Fawlty Towers episode 'The Kipper and Corpse', as the poor doctor who just wants to have some sausages for breakfast.

Rest in Peace, Geoffrey.

My favourite FT episode. RIP Dr. Price.

RIP Geoffrey Palmer. I don’t blame the committee for this miss, I didn’t even have Palmer lined up for my 2021 shadow list. I thought he was going in 2022.

Palmer was one of the oldest living Fawlty Towers cast members. To my knowledge, Raymond Mason (96), André Maranne (94) and Elizabeth Benson (94) are now the only living Fawlty Towers cast members, who were born before Palmer.
