Multiple World Motor-cycle champion (15 titles) Giacomo Agostini is 78 today.

Surprisingly, I can find no other mention of him anywhere on  the site.

Carol Ann Ford is 80 years young today. :birthday:

She was looking a bit frail by her standards on Pointless few weeks ago but then she might be one of these people who just lose weight as they get older.

That’s because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with him, fit as a fiddle and all his marbles. Well, as many marbles as anyone else that’s mental enough to do the TT, so probably not many actually

His was the era I watched bikes racing.

IIRC, him and Barry Sheene used to go toe to toe.

This has depressed me actually because all the racing has been cancelled so far this year and I’m really missing it.  No shitting in a bucket in the back of the Vivaro at Silverstone for me this year

Wow 79 - one of the terrible things about getting old is how everyone else gets older too but you don't even notice until every now and again a thunderbolt like this lands. I still thought of her as in her 60s but how could she be when I'm in my 50s and she was cooking on telly when I was a kid.

I was a bit surprised too even though she was cooking on telly when I was a kid... admittedly that was the late 80s.
