British singer Ed Sheeran  has announced that he and his wife are to be parents for the first time.

Born. Congratulations to them on the birth of their baby girl, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran (not a pisstake). I believe she was indeed ‘welcomed’.

Odds on this being the name of their next child?

Going to be hard for her to query her gender alignment with those initials.

British  Olympic gold winning swimmer  Rebecca Adlington  has announced she is pregnant  with her secondary  child. Her  first child with her new partner.

Secondary child? Is that like, one you don’t really like as much as the first?

What's the deal with all these babies being 'welcomed'? What's it mean? Is there like an open-topped bus parade or summat, flags & bunting? Or something more low-key, like a Maitre d' saying 'welcome'?

Another pissy euphemism like "passed" for "died".

Whenever I see "welcomed" in a birth announcement I wonder if it's an adoption or a surrogate  birth.  Because it's an effective way of covering that up.

Should load around 3 mins 40 for Dave Allen agreeing with you. (And 4 mins 35-ish for my favourite Allen line.)

No no don’t, it’s right - everyone has a favourite child, and any parent that tells you they don’t is lying.

I'd be pretty made up if I'd acheived the level of 'fame' some of these have!

An alien reading this thread would conclude that the only fertile women on this planet appear to be blondes who wear copious amounts of make up.

Or at least that that is a necessary condition to be/marry a 'celebrity'.
