I do not doubt he is dead but am waiting for confirmation before awarding the points That would be a first for the SHBDP surely?! Failing to qualify on obit grounds? Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted December 17, 2020 The New York Times has provided a suitable obituary for the neutrino supremo physicist Jack Steinberger. This gives three players their second hit in the Nobel Prize category @msc @chilean wayway @Death ImpendsImpends This was the fifth hit for DI and a third hit for the other two @Grim Up North Gets a fifth hit but brings his categories up to three. Thanks to all the eagle eyes death spotters. Scoreboard and Masterlist updated 1

RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted December 17, 2020 Jeremy Bulloch a unique hit for @Toast in here! And yet another person moves one away, this time in the James Bond category - will the game last to Christmas..?
Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted December 17, 2020 Congratulations to @Toast who gets her fifth hit with Jeremy Bulloch it is a unique but more importantly it is a fourth hit in a single category placing Robbie Coltrane's substantial frame between her and victory. The game has not yet been running four months. 3
Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted December 18, 2020 In the James Bond category we have had the two big hits already. There are three picks remaining with four selections (as Geoffrey Palmer had). They are David de Keyser Yaphet Kotto Andre Maranne In FIFA Nobby was the big pick but Too Song Chul has 8 picks and Jimmy Greaves 7 Another Jimmy is the big pick in Nobel prize category Jimmy Carter with 9 Frank Borman leads the space fliers also with 9 but there are no hits in this category yet. For Eurovision ONJ unsurprisingly leads with 9 but Niels Olsen has 8.

Tommy Docherty was also a hit for @Grim Up North and @toast where he was the Sixth hit for both players and their second in the footballers category. These are good numbers and may be important in the end game at the moment there are no new ways to win. Leaderboard and Masterlist updated
Toast 16,145 Posted December 31, 2020 I thought I remembered picking him somewhere, but assumed it must have been last year. Forgot to look here! Pleased that it's in a continuing game.

An Fear Beag 1,535 Posted January 4, 2021 One for the "List of the missed" here. Liam Reilly dead: Bagatelle frontman and Eurovision star dies aged 65 | Metro News Sang "Somewhere in Europe" to finish second in 1990. Decent enough song (by Eurovision standards).

Tanya Roberts not dead after all (see BBC, computer not letting me drag it across for some reason). Which rather begs the question - given she had a QO on BBC yesterday, would she have counted? Fortunately situations such as these are rare.

At no point in the rules does it state that the selections have to be dead.

RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted January 15, 2021 Doesn't end the game but puts both @Death Impends and @An Fear Beag 1 Eurovision performer away from victory. It's not going to last as long as the first two games, but the same twists and turns and race for the finish line is still on!

Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted January 15, 2021 William Thornton is the first Space Fliers hit for both An Fear Beag & Death Impends. It is a sixth hit for DI and a very efficient fourth hit for AF. Both players have now ticked off four categories and so only need a Eurovision contestant to win. They have no duplicate picks in that category.
