Lars Høgh, who played for Denmark in their final group game, a victory over West Germany and knockout round loss to Spain at the 1986 World Cup, has died aged 62.

A one-club man, the goalkeeper spent the entirety of his playing career at Odense Boldklub between 1977 and 2000.

In the shadow of the great Peter Schmeichel, he only made eight appearances for Denmark but was in their squads for the King Fahd Cup (A tournament retroactively referred to as an edition of the Confederations Cup) in 1995 and also at Euro 96.

And finally, he was voted as Danish goalkeeper of the year five times in 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1994.
