  1. Briefly switched Kirk Douglas for Mary Tyler Moore, hoping she would make it until tomorrow. Switched back just now so that it wouldn't be a pointless, unswitchable pick. Only learned about the rule after Soares's death date was briefly set a year in the past.

  2. It better be still allowed. No cutoff date was posted. Anyway I'll turn one in on the morrow.

    SirC

    And we're off.

Top 50 are in the OP as intended. You've got a week to enter.

    Good luck.

It's started, although the deadline for entries is 21st January.

To be honest, I don't expect anyone to die before the 21st.

    Total bastard.

Alright, I'll award points for Snuka but what shall I do about subsequent entries? It seems harsh to give them a load of points but it would be unfair to let them start with nothing. How about making them choose 26 instead of 25?

You could give them as many points as the current points leader and still make them pick 25 (or it can be 24, since they've already been penalized). But I also like your idea.

  5.

When does this start and what sort of score has won in the past?

It's started, although the deadline for entries is 21st January.

Previous winning scores are as follows

    2016 - 21 points

    2015 - 15 points

    2014 - 10 points

    2012 - 10 points

    2011 - 15 points

Does that mean that it will possible to sub anyone who dies before January 21?

  6. Thank you, The Dead Cow. Here's my randomly generated team, random both in names selected and in order listed. I expect to get last place in a fairly spectacular way, but we shall see. Wahey.

Honestly, it's not that bad. I can see it avoiding last place.

So, looks like this'll be the fastest Deathrace ever despite having the highest ever winning total. Serious question, will any other big name/joker check out in the next few days and sneak result for someone else?

    I hope so.

I don't like the death row picks. I realise there is a risk of last minute stays, but it's unimaginative.

Ditto. What does MPFC think of introducing a points cap, rather than a hit cap, for the death row inmates next year? For example, if it's 500 points and two of them die on January 1, you only get 500 points instead of 728. Therefore you might think whether a second inmate and nearly guaranteed points is worth it if because of the reduced points there's a higher risk that another death will be necessary to win.

Here's a link that works because the above one was taken down I think.

Well, well, well.... never heard of it. Either way, I think he's got an extreme case and still confident he won't last long like that.

Michael York (Austin Powers, Cabaret) has had it for years. Still with us, though.

    Gino Odjick, too.

On the other hand you have Jānis Vaišļa, who I had on my Deathrace team last year. Started feeling unwell in the summer of 2015, received diagnosis in December, died during the first half of January. McGuinness might as well be dead in a month.
