    Thank God he made it to see Biden inaugurated. The thought of Trump presiding over  his state funeral didn't bear thinking about ! I guess it's virtually certain that President Biden will have that sad duty...:(

     

    So Carter has lived to see 7 Presidents succeed him (in a couple of hours)..Is that a record?:unsure:

    My dad has the same birthday as Larry King.He is 83 with severe emphysema. He cannot walk more than a few yards without gasping for breath. I am relieved to say he was given his corona  vaccine yesterday. I hope it means I can spend a few more years with him, even though he can hardly leave the house anymore. I can therefore empathise with Larry's family.I hope he lasts a few more years too.

    Well exactly one year ago I drew up a list of 264 famous centenerians and 106 of them are now dead.That's about 40 %, , so proportionately maybe about 20 from that list should die?

    Recent interview with the great man.Not much new, he misses Waitrose in lockdown, is nervous of dying (he previously called it the great unresolved cliffhanger in life) and "has a life to dream!"

    Judging by that pic he doesn't have to worry too much about dying for a few years yet !

    Following Shaws death it can't  happen again before July 4, 2024, if Duffy, Jill Knight and Eric Cockeram are all still alive on that date, which is unlikely I'd have thought. Before Ronald Atkins turned 100 in June 2016 there were no centenarian former MPs since Bert Hazell died in january 2009 so to have 3 at one time might be a one off..

    There is some speculation on the internet that Trump could still mount a coup with all those national guard troops and the Jan 6 storming of congress was just a ruse to get the troops deployed. The real coup might be next wednesday they think. Interesting theory !

    Does anyone think that when Rush dies Donald Trump could take over his radio show? Would be a great opportunity for him to promote his MAGA agenda now he's off twitter, and he was a close friend of Rushs and a frequent guest on the show I think !
