  1. According to the papers he has had a new black Land Rover 4 x 4 delivered already to replace the one he smashed up and the headline of one of the papers today is "Phil back on the road".

So he doesn't sound very shaken up and is obviously not too scared to carry on driving so that's good news for death listers but bad news for other motorists.

I bet he's spent hours on those compare the market websites last night trying to get car insurance because at his age and after that big smash up I bet a lot of companies didn't even want to insure him.

In the normal course of events if you pull out from a side road onto a national speed limit main road into the path of traffic and cause a smash up you might be charged with driving without due care and attention or dangerous driving or whatever but in his case that would effectively mean he would be up in court against his wife. Crown v Prince Philip.

  2. The rules are too complicated for a casual visitor like me to enter,  but being a helpful type here's a few you should have picked -

    John McCririck
    George Alagiah
    Leah Bracknell
    June Brown
    Dennis Waterman
    Chris Tarrant
    Prince Philip
    Jean-Claude Juncker

    Keith Richards

    Kenny Sansom

    John McDonnell

  3. Haven't you heard his football commentaries? It's Glenn Twaddle not Glenn Hoddle.

My money's on a brain haemorrage because his brother had one of those.

If he recovers I wonder if he will be asked if his illness was punishment for what he did in a previous life.

    • Haha 1

  4. To be fair to me I think I was the first person to put John McCririck on this forum and that was I think some months ago perhaps last year so it will require a huntback through my previous posts. I had identified him as a cancer suspect a year ago when he was looking particularly gaunt and claiming the weight loss was due to flu. Knowing his history as a heavy smoker and also having experience of this I immediately made my own diagnosis of lung cancer. Having seen this week's latest pictures of him in which he looks even worse and has a deathly pallor about him I am a lot more certain that he is suffering from terminal lung cancer and it would not surprise me one iota if he didn't make Christmas. However if he does he should definitely be on the 2019 list. I thank you.

  6. Jerry 'Iceman' Butler would be a good pick for 2019.
Last video I saw of him he looked very frail and stooped over and now it has been announced the hit maker will not be standing for re-election this year in local Chicago politics after 30 years as a politician. Could well be due to failing health.
This is him nearly 5 years ago -

Another left-field choice would be the spoon bender, Uri Geller. Looks fit but all that paranormal, psychic, spoon bending energy going through his body could be taking a toll.

  7. What about Alan 'Porky' Parry. He is a broadcaster on Talksport and talks a lot about his life threatening conditions and how only part of his heart works. His nickname 'Porky' suggests he may be fat and, if so, that can't be helping things. Could be a good pick.

  8. I think it's a sad indictment of the people who choose these selections that here we are almost halfway through a year and a panel of so called experts has only been able to pick out 5 people who have died. I would say just for my own personal observations I have been a lot more successful. As regards who on the list will be the next one to die I went down the list and if I am being brutally honest I would say that I wasn't expecting anyone on that list to die imminently. It seems to be either let's pick people just because they are very old even though they are in good health or alternatively let's pick people who live reckless lifestyles that doesn't seem to be any real logic behind it or sound research in terms of finding out about people who are seriously ill.

John McCain has been quoted in the last couple of days of saying certain things and it's because another senator has got a health problem like him and John McCain is supporting him so I don't think John McCain is at deaths door.

  9. 2 hours ago, Thatcher said:

Dennis Nilsen is dead aged 72. Thank God Grindr didn't exist when he was free to roam.

Edit: The Sun, Daily Mirror, BBC obituaries.

I read a book about him called Killing for Company. He had body parts stuffed all over his flat when they came to arrest him. In Bin Liners and cupboards. I believe he wrote his autobiography while in prison but wasn't allowed to publish it because he was alive and unable to profit from his crimes. I wonder if it will now be allowed to be published.

  10. According to today's Daily Star, Rose West is in poor health and in hospital. Her health problems are being closely guarded but it could be serious and life threatening. If makes the year out she could be one for 2019.

  11. I was a massive fan of Jim Bowen and Bullseye. What a top bloke he was. RIP. He should have had as much media coverage as Hawking. Jim was a definite legend and Bullseye was one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

Edit. PS. While darts is the subject, my hot tip for a DL success is blinged up arrow thrower Bobby "The Dazzler" George. Looked a bit rough last time I saw him on a video.

  12. Today Vic Damone has died and his death was reported on BBC TV News. If you'd listened to me you'd have another 'hit' on your list.

I'd just like to mention that on August 12, 2017 in a thread titled "Ideas And Possibilities For 2018", I posted the following but was ignored -

    Some ideas -
    Liza Minnelli - Unhealthy alcoholic.
Ken Clarke - Unhealthy looking, overweight politician
Vic Damone - 89 year old singer, stroke / wife died a few months ago (a UK no 1 hit so quite famous)
Dennis Waterman - Sweeney/Minder actor - Looks pretty rough for his age
Jeremy Clarkson - In hospital wth pneumonia
    Dionne Warwick - Ageing singer

Vic Damone, renowned American crooner, dies aged 89  - https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/feb/12/vic-damone-singer-actor-dies-89
